Whats the point of an easier drain plug when you still have to do the hard part and drop the skidplates?
So the big skid plate doesn't have to come off, but there isn't a lot of room to work. The smaller skid plate isn't had to remove to get to the filter. Hopefully with this valve I can keep the big skid plate on and run a hose to a container and just flip a lever to drain without making a mess. My first oil change oil dripped on the top of the skid plate.

Does that model look like it will fit better?
I am hopeful that it will, but I can't test without draining the oil. I think there will be enough room to use the plastic access panel.

I just completed my second oil change on my Maverick Hybrid and added the Fumoto Oil Drain Valve F137N and the adapter ADP-137 (won't go on without it).

I bought a Fumoto drain plug. The F107SX. The website says that it fits the maverick without the 1/2 inch adapter. It will fit, but extends beyond the FX4 Skid plate which makes it not a viable solution. I am assuming the felt skid plate will have the same issue.

I contacted the company and sent them some pics. They are sending me a straight F137S with 1/2 inch adapter to see if it will work, but it will be a while until I change oil again. Either way the company has been extremely helpful and pleasant to work with while I try to find a solution.
Well, if it won’t fit right without mods, I will not use it. Too bad. Looks like a good idea.

I can’t buy the oil and filter much cheaper than that

Just did my first oil change since I installed it two months ago. My first FUMOTO drain plug and man, it's the way to go. Makes it so easy and less messy. No splashing with the hose. Still messy dropping the filter though.

Anyway, I was trying to remember what size socket I need for the drain plug. Then I realized, holy crap!!! I don't need that anymore! This is literally the only tool I need now.

What I did with the oil filter is fold up aluminum foil and shove it behind the filter once you loosen it up. fold the foil so it drips into a catch pan. Once it is done draining take the filter off, drop it into the foil and make a mess that way. It will at least give you a little hope that you won't make a mess. Worked for me. Maybe next time I will catch it.

Did you also use the 137N w/ adapter?

Thanks for your information and photos concerning the Fumoto drain valve part numbers including the extension needed. Just ordered from the manufacturer website which recommended the same product numbers. Our Maverick looks just like yours, thanks again!
