Had the Maverick in for service yesterday. Got told that the front axle boot is leaking grease. I had actually noticed it on my original wheels so I took a look at the wheels (I still have them) and it looks like the grease was leaking back then at maybe 2k to 3k miles.

Of course they won’t say upfront that they will fix it under warranty; only that I need to get it in for a diagnosis and THEN they’ll let me know if it’s covered. 🙄🤬🤨

Pretty sure Ford greased the hubs from the factory as mine has that too. Axle grease from a torn boot wouldn't make it outside the hub and it's a dark green color

It probably will be covered under warranty. You did not cause the problem.
I agree with this generally. But I think I saw a post a while back about someone lifting the front end and ending up with damage to the CV joint boot. If your truck is lifted you may have an issue.

Leaking started before the lift, the grease is on the original wheels.

this would be the wheel bearing, but I would expect it to sling all over the place, not quite like this. CV joint would leak on the inside part of the wheel. Very curious though to what it is.
