They didn't price protect people that got rolled over from 22 to 23 either. But they did give them a rebate on the 23 and for many people they ended up paying less with the rebate.

You can only apply the rebate if you recieve a 23 to purchase. If your 23 doesn't get built, Ford didn't exactly do you any favor by dangling the rebate in front of you and stringing you along for another year. Hopefully it doesn't happen, but I would not put it past Ford at this point..

Well rollovers are supposed to get first priority... So it would really suck if someone gets rolled over twice.

There are no rollovers. All 2023 orders look identical to scheduling, the only chance at "priority" is the dealer properly assigning priority codes. My dealer had no hesitation changing my brand new order's priority code from 19 down to 10.. now I'm right there at the same "priority" as some sap that didn't get their 22 built.

If I'm not mistaken, the priority at your dealer isn't system wide, it's the dealership priority that ties in with their allocations and their own orders.

That is correct. But at a dealer level, my brand new order is now at the same priority as a re-order should be. I'm not saying its right and I originally was joking when I bugged the salesman about the priority code, but he didn't even flinch. Just changed it to 10 and sent me the new order summary. Just goes to show if the dealerships are not on top of setting the priority (or are just putting everyone who asks at 10), there's no way for Ford to know the difference between existing customer orders and brand new orders.

My dealer won't price protect my August '21 order for a delivery in a couple of weeks.
I'm not surprised Ford is getting on board with this...

Pretty sure that happened with the Broncos and it is currently happening with 2021 Maverick orders. Im just happy that Granger only has 80 of us 2022s left and they arent taking new 2023s till all rollovers (which they know whats what because they arent taking new ones) are scheduled and in process.

As for the price protection they are giving, it is literally a gift. Their sales stats or stack prices wouldnt notice one bit if they didnt and they are giving up probably a couple million of pure revenue by doing it. They did not have to do it. Also they couldnt stomach doing it on the Tremor model since it will be a parts bin cash cow in the low margin Maverick lineup.

Also dealerships like Granger working hard to get orders processed on their $3000 off and 3% off deals is amazing since they barely made enough money on em to cover the labor of processing. Samantha worked all weekend got me confirmed sunday evening only to change it first thing monday when the Tremor option popped up. Thats dedication to customers, building loyalty. Their only profit is a potential allocations boost next year.

Ford and dealers like Granger are giving us gifts in a market so hot they have zero need to. Thats why I beleive in companies like that. That is how honest capitalism should work. Having socialist ideals like honesty(not the same thing as constant communication), fairness, and loyalty to consumers as people is a neccesary part of the way capitalism should be.

Maybe, maybe not . For example I believe if there are a number of rollovers that have a priority 10 it will go by date and timestamp and of course what ever constraints there might be. I heard some give a 19 to everyone and so then goes by date and timestamp and whatever constraints might be.

Sort of- the dealer can only go as low as priority 10. Regions were supposedly looking at 22-23 rollovers and dropping them even lower (2?).
