But, yes, mustang and corvette are "halo cars", as much brand marketing as product.

With the amount of mavericks I’ve seen people selling or trading in 22/22/24’s for tbe 25 refresh, got a feeling this year will be another record sales

As much as I love Mustangs, with only 44k sold in 2024, I wonder if it is a viable option to keep producing them for Ford? Most car builders would drop a model with such low sales.

they really screwed up- the pricing on the mustang has gotten out of hand.

but not only is the pricing too high in general, but also in comparison to the mach-e with incentives. I am not sure how many first-time Ford buyers got a mach-e, but I am sure that some folks that would have bought a mustang gt bought a mach-e for less and it goes 0-60 and 1320' faster, which is important to many mustang drivers.

I think traditional Mustang buyers take one look at the Mach E and write it off regardless of its performance. A Mustang has always been a sporty two-door coupe/convertible. The Mach E is a lumpy four-door crossover.

I definitely would not buy a Mach E, and at the current pricing I have trouble seeing the value in a Mustang of any type, but especially a Dark Horse. (That kind of money used to buy a GT350 not long ago!)

I was just speculating as to reasons why the Mach E outsold the Mustang 2:1 in Q4.

Mustang Mach-E naming is on the same level of horrible decision as changing Coke's flavor for "New" Coke years ago. Coke was smart enough to realize their mistake and course correct.
