The repossession patent is all well and good, but I feel Ford really missed an opportunity by not patenting the "Driver Dope Slap" feature. Maybe GM will get there first?
Patent Description: The Driver Dope Slap feature consists of a mechanical arm with attached hand, normally recessed behind a dashboard panel, and driven by advanced AI software and triggered by audio and visual sensors placed within the cabin. Simply stated, the Driver Dope Slap will activate when the driver exhibits any variety of undesirable behaviors. This system shall be user programmable. For instance, wives can program husband dope slap activation when detecting proximity to cigar stores. The system can also be customized with user-selected voices. For instance, parents can program their own voices to harangue teenage children speeding (See Harry Potter "Howler"). Possible extensions to this patent might include the "Passenger Dope Slap", in which drivers can stealthily trigger dope slaps for various passengers (See "Tesla Fart Mode").
