My Ford Pass app tells me my Maverick will shut down in 15 minutes even after I have shut the truck down and locked the doors. Instead of a start button there is a stop button but the truck is not running.

If I close the app out on my iPhone it goes back to the start button screen. Anyone else see this? The other day I thought I left the truck on. 🧐

I've been reading reviews on alot of wacky things happening with the Ford Pass on other forums, etc. Last night around 10pm I got a message "will shut down in 15 minutes" for the first time. The car was siting on my driveway for about 4 hrs since I last came home. I wasnt thinking and I decided to click on the "15 minutes" message. I went outside and the car was on, the lights, etc. I then shut it off. Afterwards I was getting this error message "Partial response received-Please pull to refresh on screen to update data". The whole night it was still showing this message and finally this morning it disappeared.

Yes, I closed the ford pass app and it went back to showing the start button screen for me as well.

What’s even more strange is each time I’ve noticed this I didn’t even use the remote start. Both times the truck was in the garage. I drive to work, shut it off, then look at the app later and it shows it will shut down in 15 minutes with a stop button. Of course the timer never counts down. In my case the second time I went and checked the truck and it wasn’t running. 🧐

The app is not the most responsive that's for sure.

I removed my truck and deleted it. Not a solution for everyone, but for me it was basically a method to copy my VIN and that's it. I don't want the issues the communication between the app and my truck may cause i.e. battery drain.

Have you made sure your background processes are enabled and the app is running properly with all it's permissions etc etc? Tried to pull down and "refresh" the app (in app)?

Yeah I wonder about the battery drain thing for sure but I do like the remote start especially here in AZ summer heat.

Yea when I travel it's handy and I'm sure I'll break down and reinstall. Currently able to just point the FOB out the window. I totally understand wanting to use the APP and it sucks that none of them seem to work very well. The one for my previous Toyota was a disaster. Sorry man. Try uninstalling then reinstalling or removing the vehicle and adding it again etc etc the whole "tech support" list about "did you turn it off then turn it back on again" lol. Go into the app settings, clear the cache/memory etc etc.

Yeah first time I pushed the stop button and the second time when I knew it wasn’t running I just closed the app and restarted it and it was normal. Oh and yeah the Toyota app is even buggier that’s for sure.

I haven't had problems with the Android FordPass app like this.

I don't use it daily, maybe once or twice a week is all. But a few times I've had it be pretty slow to remote start the truck, and might show the 'shutting off in <15 min' status for several minutes after I get in and start driving.

Lag is different than completely wrong remote start status, though, and I think that's what you are describing in the OP.

Try completely removing and then reloading Ford Pass to your phone. I’ve had issues in the past and it’s done the trick every time

Correct. In both the instances I never used the app to start my truck because I left from my garage. It hasn’t happened in the last few days and I have used the remote start feature during that time.

I guess the first time I noticed it could have been lagging from a previous time I used the app but then when I noticed it I pushed the stop button and had it set back to the start screen. The second time couldn’t have been lag.
