Having gone down this rabbit hole and not finding all the pieces in one place, figured this little update would help some of you.
-Background: We ordered an XLT 2.0 AWD ECO Lux 4K FX4 on Dec. 6th. The order was placed as a Priority code 80 which we caught after heading home, and we did get a clear and signed buyers order outlining the price.
-After looking on this forum and a bit of research, we realized that there was a good chance dealer / rep did not understand how to order and/or made a Mistake as 80 is for dealer allocation not a retail order.
-We contacted our rep (who honestly has been great as has dealer) and explained we wanted this order at a 10 priority and wanted a copy of the order (10-19 are retail, less than 10 are set by Ford, 20-80 are dealer stock allocations outside of Retail (sell on showroom)
-Dec. 10th we received an email from Ford confirming our rough order
-Later in the day, we received the updated order from the dealer confirming it had been placed as a priority 10
Today, we again checked Ford.com account and our order was not showing up there.
-We found out that there is a Ford Maverick Order specialist team that can be called at 1(800)334-4375 for updates
-They were helpful and able to locate our order with the order number
-They confirmed it was “in processing” and noted that seems to be quick as many orders submitted months ago have not moved
-So, if you want to progress to getting a VIN and moving down the pipeline, priority code does seem to have an impact
-you can call this team number listed any time to get an update
Regarding Ford.com ”my orders” - the rep said if done at a dealer, likely that the order will never show in there. Said to not quote her on that, but that is what she has observed.
We went through the steps to ensure everything we could do to make sure order was in, clean and we had a good buyer’s order was done…and now we wait. Dealer has been good (Sawgrass Ford Fort Lauderdale) and followed through on their promises as well as no ADM or odd charges on buyers order. Will post back here as we progress - probably a number of you trying to figure out if your order was done right and/or is moving. Good luck all.
