Ford just unveiled the Heritage Editions of the Bronco and Bronco Sport yesterday. I have to say they sure are pretty sweet! It was a given to do this from the start! Retro colors with unique seat patterns, contrasting trim, unique wheels, etc. This is what the Bronco name is all about.

Could you imagine what a Heritage Edition Ford Maverick would look like? I think it's a great idea. It would be a guaranteed money-maker for Ford and would sell out immediately for that bit of nostalgia. Preferably for 2025 to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the Maverick name. As is the case with the Broncos, they're making 1,966 units of each (clever) so for the Maverick they would have to make 1,970 units. What are your thoughts?

The Maverick was a 2 door coupe or a 4 door sedan. Pretty hard to make any connection to that.
Well when you put it that way, the Bronco was originally a two-door with no four-door option and it never had a smaller counterpart to go with it (at least for the first couple of generations until the Bronco II came out in 1983) Yet, they're making Heritage Editions of two versions that didn't exist so what does it matter? The Maverick could pull it off. It'll still have the same name but not the same conversion, much like these.

But the Bronco is offered as a 2 door and both it, the Sport and the original are the same classification of vehicle.
Original Maverick=car
Today’s Maverick=truck
Hey, but what ever makes people happy, go for it. 😉

Would love to see something like this on the Maverick for sure, weird semantics above aside. I think we'll see all kinds of different packages over the next couple years...Ford will definitely ride this wave as long as they can. Sign me up for this two-tone blue ASAP.

The BS heritage is just stupid.....there is no heritage to draw from.

Same for the Mav....as a P/U, there is no heritage to bring back. Dumb idea.

The big Bronco looks great! All for it.

My $.02 since you asked. 🤠

Just replace heritage with retro package or vintage package or whatever will satisfy the word police and Ford is good to go and rake in the cash

Maybe it should have been put this way:

All of the Broncos were SUVs

The original Mavericks were cars, not trucks. No lineage at all. Just a repurposed name.

A Heritage Edition Maverick should come in an ugly shade of green with a black vinyl roof, just like my Grandpa's.

Seems like the current Maverick has more heritage connections with the Escape or Ranger than the old Maverick car.

Can‘t see much to work with other than hub caps and lurid colors:

Would love to see some of those jelly bean colors. Just not sure people would buy them.

NO NO NO. Now that you've frankensteined this thread all the pedants are back saying that the Maverick has no heritage even though Ford has been selling small pickups for 50 years.
