Not necessarily Maverick related, but looks to be the way things will go. I for one am all for this. Get rid of the shady markups, let me order what I want at a set price.

I hope this will weed out the bad actors. there are really good dealerships out there that put service and integrity above price gouging. Ford knows that. I think the most relevant comment made in the article is that "dealerships will have to evolve" "new standards will be brutal". The dealership I bought from we pretty much modeled this. Ordered on line, confirmed order at dealership. Dealership provided as ordered and priced with no markups or glass etching crap. They immediately took care of minor transport damage. I just think Ford is tired of bad dealerships costing them market share and sales. A billion dollar global company at risk from any greedy, slimly, unethical, dealership conducting down right felony theft in many cases(often in Ford's name). My son bought a car that, at delivery, had glass etch charge of $1200 - they didnt even try to sell it first. When inspected, the glass had NO etching even on it! talked to DA and an attorney and they said, yep, criminal activity but not something we go after or prosecute! So good for Ford for creating a plan that will elevate the good dealerships and get rid of the bad (I hope)
