I respect what ever you decided to chose EB vs Hybrid, you buy what you need, Mavericks are awesome trucks in both powertrain.

But what is up with the trolling? "Happy I chose the EB instead of Hybrid"? Why even mention this? This could have been replicated with the EB engines. Just takes a defect in the machine making any part (in this case crankshaft). Your chances of getting into an accident with your EB are way greater then a Hybrid motor failing and catching on fire. 0 cases of fires due to this issue.

According to your logic, there's no sense installing smoke detectors in your home until you have a fire.
Nope my house came with smoke detectors

Oh Yes there were several fires. Thats how this whole subject came up. How did the Maverick catch fire. Basically blew a rod right thru the oil pan or block dumping all that hot oil on the skid plate and it did catch the vehicles on fire. They were not parked in the garage but being driven at the time. So the fix was to drill holes in the skid plate and hope the oil runs out on the ground if it happens to any others and not catch the vehicle on fire. Supposedly it was caused by a bad batch of crankshafts . I think theres pictures here in this forum of the burnt Mavericks.

I read there was Escape fires. But 0 Maverick cases from the crankshaft issue. All the burnt Mavericks were EB and cold engine hybrids not related to this.

After looking for Maverick fires online yes the only pictures i found were of the eco boost. Anyway I have the Hybrid with the Recall . Will be interesting to see what comes of this. Mine came with predrilled holes in the flimsy skid plate. So i was hoping mine wouldnt be part of the recall and they had the problem fixed. Just got the recall letter a couple months ago. Been a great vehicle so far. No problems. Great mileage.

The only winners in a class action lawsuit are the attorneys. The manufacturer loses big time and the victims gets close to nothing.
Not true. Had a Kia Soul that was busted up by the Kia boyz/gurlz. Cost me little under 5 grand to fix. Settlement was reached. I was eligible to be reimbursed, but federal judge told the horrible lawyers(lol)and the manufactures that it was not enough. He is right. Those two vehicle manufactures would never had accepted responsibility for leaving off 125.00 part that has caused so much misery to good hard working folks. Yes You tube and Tik tok helped this happen too. But the problem started with H&K. So yes lawyers are needed when companies try to Ostrich the problem.
Btw I got sold it to a family who was and is fully aware of the issue. They were still comfortable buying an otherwise fantastic vehicle which I really liked. Their daughter is attending Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and loves the Soul🙂
As a vet with PTSD I needed to get rid of it for my peace of mind. Plus nobody really wants to shoot a little kid, well unless you live in Florida. Yes I hunted down a Maverick(lots of time going down the rabbit hole on my computer last DEC and JAN).
Yes I love my used Mav ecoboost bought from Cochran Ford. Play nice.
Go ahead now and take yer shots. Enjoy.

No house "comes" with smoke detectors. Someone at sometime installed them.
Why can't home builders install smokes detectors so they "come" with the new house?

Not sure that I understand your question. Let me try to answer.
Building codes require all new houses and remodeled houses to have smoke detectors installed
There's nothing stopping the home owner from installing his own. This all came about because someone on the thread make a statement that the Maverick hybrid fire engine lawsuit is unimportant if it hasn't happened to your Maverick. I argued why have smoke detectors if you haven't had a fire in your home yet as an analogy.

Sorry but I'm confused with your reply to my post. Time for me to move along.
