I read on a Facebook Maverick group that a person ordered a hybrid Maverick on 11/1, received the confirmation email but had the dealer call them today saying that their order was cancelled by Ford. Has anyone else heard about dealers saying confirmed orders have been cancelled?

Not true. You could of ordered the hybrid up to 11/15.

After that you have to wait for 2023 order banks to open which will probably be around June.

I doubt it, the dealer was probably hoping they would say ok and write it off so the dealer would get a stock hybrid to mark up like crazy. You think the ADM are bad on EB Mavericks? Wait till the Hybrids start hitting dealer lots, its going to be a bloodbath.

Or... Could be the dealer didn't put it in in time.

Yeah, I don’t believe this for a minute. If the order was in on time, and you received the confirmation from Ford, Ford would be the one to tell you if there is a change - or cancellation (if that were a thing). I imagine the worse case scenario is that if Ford -somehow - takes these orders into April or so, I could see them offering to roll orders over to 2023 Mavs. But that, too, is a bit far fetched. Nah, I won’t believe anything like that unless it came directly from Ford. Sounds like a dealer issue - probably a scam to get a hybrid on the lot to “market adjust” the 💩 out of it, as others have mentioned.

“I read on Facebook” should be the first indication to proceed with caution.

I'm wondering if her dealer didn't submit the documentation by the 17th and is doing a CYA move to the customer.

“I read on Facebook…” = FALSE.
Well, I think that can apply to pretty much anything you read on the web...including here. ;)

I doubt someone would be more inclined to post a false story about their dealer's actions on Facebook vs. here.

I don’t think there’s any cancellations, unless last minute orders failed to validate by Ford’s cutoff. Ford will keep people on the hook to try and build those vehicles, right up to the end of the model year close out process. And then roll any unfulfilled orders to the 2023 model year.

Correction: Ford video guy seemed to suggest in their December you tube video that Ford will produce all confirmed MY2022 orders.
