I've always thought of Forbes being more of a financial/business magazine/website, but I guess they have a Wheels section. Today they named the Maverick their "Car of the Year". I guess they include all types of vehicles in their "Car" sector when awarding this title. Article mentions other vehicles but circles back to the Mav as being the best.

Woo-hoo!!! Now if Ford would just build mine.

Anyways, here you go:

Just to put this in perspective, the Mustang II (you know, the Pinto derived Mustang) was Motor Trend's car of the year in 1974.

Ford Maverick Forbes names Maverick Car of the Year 1638972872794

One of the only cars my dad bought new back in the day that managed to break down...literally daily for 2 weeks straight after he bought it. Dealer eventually had to buy it back.

I’ll appreciate Forbes article if my Maverick shows up soon. At the moment, seeing and driving is “believing” to me as well as I haven’t actually seen a Maverick even in person yet.

Car awards are the kiss of death to the people who buy them down the road. After the model is selling well due to good press, the bean counters are looking for more ways to cheapen the product.

Example 1986 Ford Taurus -multiple COTY awards. 1987 Ford Taurus -decontented in many areas. They even removed the rear anti-roll bar. Accountants are everywhere.

I always thought Forbes was pay to play...their reviews read like an infomercial to me. But whatever, I guess it's good but it don't get me my hybrid any faster.

I had a Mustang II (POS) and have my Maverick now. I believe the Maverick is better!

My non-existent Maverick is car of the year. Wonderful! I'll be sure and hug the darn thing if it ever get built and shows up at my dealership.
Given mine isn't scheduled yet I have plenty of time to order a replica trophy....
