Ok, I purchased 9 months ago from Gene Latta Ford in Hanover, PA. It's a family owned, one off Ford Dealer with strong ties to the community. Therefore, screwing over customers is a nonstarter. Ty Mummert was my salesperson and was straight forward on everything he told me. I paid MSRP at the time because the truck was in so much demand and I believe every car dealer was selling cars at MSRP or with ADM because COVID dropped inventory to zero at some dealers.
No problem, I signed the contract and waited. Fast forward to today, picked up my Maverick at the price agreed upon in June and received the 4-month promotional financing at 0.9% for 48 months offered at time of order. This is a Ford Motor Company Policy and ALL DEALERS MUST ABIDE BY THIS POLICY. There is a copy of that internal memo on this site if you care to print it out to take to your dealer.
Now I had to ask about all these 3% under invoice and other $3000.00 off deals. He told me the money is made in the finance departments by selling 4 + extended warranties even if they have to beat on you until closing time or lie about your credit score and up the interest rate on the loans. He told me they don't want your cash, they want you to finance. Some finance guys will up the price of the vehicles if you don't fall for extended warranties. Extended warranties are pushed by the finance department because of commissions and to make up profits lost by lowballing other dealers
So these lowball dealers have a lot of ordered, but their customers will have to wait with some of them only getting allocations the smaller dealer are recieving.
Ford needs to fix this system to first come first serve and admonish some of these oversize dealers for SHADY DEALINGS.
Now to the fun part.
Truck in Garage, its raining here.
And in the backseat a LEGO SET
