Yeah well don’t take what he says at face value. He also said he was going to penalize dealers for selling over msrp…still waiting for that to happen. Also said they were going to prioritize customer orders by order date on maverick and that didn’t happen either so…

For sure. CEOs talk big. He said the penalty was fewer allocations to greedy dealers so maybe that happens for the 23. I just wish Chris Farley were still alive. Holy schnikes it’s a hybrid!

Farley needs to stay out of social media long enough to fix his company.

He talks too much, and does too little, IMO.

Jim Farley wants to do those kind of things to fix Ford and is very vocal about it, but the entrenched corporate inertia at an old company like Ford is enormous… resistance is everywhere.

Even if he put all the top managers in a room and said “do this or you’re all fired” it still wouldn’t get done in a timely manner. Plus the resulting disruptive disfunction would get him fired.

He has actually taken an enormous risk with the Blue/e company split, which is probably the best shot at implementing new processes, for the electric vehicles at least.

I hope he can move it foward and fix the issues as fast as he can, but it will not happen quickly.

Like most CEO's he's too far removed from the down and dirty stuff and detail that is needed to make solid decisions that actually address the problems. But he is a good PR guy for trying to sell it. Look at the decision makers below him and the actuality of the corretive actions they have taken. The two that strike me as not being close to what he wanted were the decisions to let the 22 rollovers be treated as new orders with actual new orders getting released at the same time and letting dealers set the priorities and second, the new allocations scheme which has to be one of the most illogical approaches to solving a problem ever and so complicated even the dealers are confused and buyers know that all this does is provide cover for the way the Mavericks are put into build schedules.
Let me add one more, they build product short a chip and move them off the line to some spot in the desert and when they get the chip that was missing from those builds they use them for vehicles on the production line first and sometime later actually put them in the already built vehicles sitting in the desert. That is not FIFO and definitely quality control IMHO
