I have an XLT and would like to extend the existing ambient lighting LED under the console stack. The goal would be to leverage the existing circuit to add it to the footwells. Has anyone tried this?

Here is mine. Took side panels off center console to do the front.

It appears you are using a third party product? If so, what did you use? My original goal was to extend the existing LED circuit to the sides up front only. Something similar to the Lariat. But your extension to the back seat is a cool idea.

It is orange leds. It was purchased off Amazon. There is power and ground on both sides of the led spool.
So you you cut the leds where you like in the center.
Best sticking leds I have purchased. And I have done this to multiple vehicles over the years. Just use wax and grease remover to clean area first.

I've been thinking the same. I do have an issue in that my ambient lights don't "remember" their previous setting. They often have to be turned back on via the infotainment screen.

I'm not interested in the floodlight effect either, just a subtle glow (probably ice blue to match the other), and maybe an led in the back of each cupholder.

Any picks of how you wired this up? I'm wanting to do something similar but with govee car lights, Id want to be able to adjust the color and brightness but have the on/off be the ambient lighting system already built into the truck.

Thanks

In the fuse panel on the passenger side floor use the bottom left fuse.
It runs off ignition and it shows spare not used.
I used a ground on the passenger side close to the center console. Just look up and to the left and their is a nut.
I have a thread on running the wires on here.
Very easy.
Here is my center console I just did also. About two weeks ago.
