Well - you provided no link, just a claim.
And you might want to reread if you think I was talking about you or your post. I was talking about the article. You didn't write much but a link to the article.

Of course it's trademarked term - it's been used already for years.
Not on the Maverick yet though.
Appears 2026 they started - that's what I mean.
Had to look it up myself since I've not seen it in the few ads yet.

They have also changed their phrasing for the eCVT thru the years, actually on the windows sticker within the same year many times.

So the fact that article did happen to use a new marketing term used with the Maverick, along with some incorrect info, and some badly written AI - still doesn't mean it was useful info.
So, to make this clear to everyone, especially those that seem to "guess" about issues and
don't do their homework.

1. Ford Authority trademarked the term, "PowerBoost" ...and it's a Proper Noun.....on Nov. 27, 2017!!!
SOOOO.....that is for ALL vehicles using a hybrid system. Includes, yes...Maverick.

2. The info also could mean some "useful information." Just a fact.

3. Hellllooo.....the "link" is what I put for folks to open. Read and digest and then do whatever
from there.

too many extra parts. The parts of ICEs have been figured out over the past hundred years. Hybrids just have more and newer parts. Extra cooling system, etc.
Most of the items that fail or require routine maintenance have been removed from the Hybrid. No belts, no external A/C compressor, no starter motor or solenoid, no clutches to wear out in a single-speed transmission that is rated for 1 million miles. An engine that Ford has used since 2005 and Mazda since 2001. Then you add in electric motors that have a history in New York and Chicago taxi service for coming on 1 million miles. A battery that is warranted for 8 years and designed for 12 year life. The smoother drive and the huge reduction in brake use means that brakes, tires and C/V joints should last 3 times longer. compare that to a small old-tech transmission and a high-pressure engine with belts, starter and compressor, gets far less mileage, many more oilchanges and wears out brakes every 70k and I know which one is better.

1 - already told you that it had been trademarked.
Find a year prior to 2026 Maverick that it was applied to.
Actually - find some other hybrid models it was applied to since 2017. Prior to 2026 it seemed to be specific - and not the Maverick. Or several others.
Besides - I already told you I found the marketing now for it being applied to 2026 on Ford's website - but not ads .... yet, probably will be in ads if they think it grabs other truck buyers.

2 - stated that too, could be useful, but really - someone provided a video link later for EE that helped to actually cover some details and usage better.

3 - don't be dense - the link I requested early on was Ford's use of the term - but no bother, I found it first. My whole point before that was from the article link you provided, the only link you provided. Reread - that AI article is messing you up.

Not sure why you are so in love with that article - it's really not that great compared to others.
You've seen the reaction from many to articles like that - not uncommon to happen.
I just noticed a couple errors they had, with rather narrow discussion points.

When the F150 first got a tiny 6-cyl, there was uproar! Same with a 4-cylinder Mustang. But after some whining the comments (mostly) faded away.
The updated powertrain of the hybrids 2025+ has them neck and neck with the EB for "stomp on the gas for 3 seconds" sprints. The EB wins the marathons due to the higher HP.

Both are fun. 😄
There’s been several instances now that I’ve got 14,300 miles on the clock and it feels fully broken in, finally. When I needed more than a 3 second sprint.
Pushing hard up a grade for several minutes, Having to pop your ears two or three times along the way.

An easy way up is Low at 3,000 RPM.
I can hold that as long as It’s needed.

I like my sprints... hold the pedal down too long and you'll get a nasty ticket 😄

There's an interchange I use occasionally that connects the interstate highway to a state highway. The interstate is below it, you circle around and come to a stop at signaled intersection which separates the highway from local roads just prior to the light. The nice thing about this interchange is that if you're feeling froggy, you can just stomp the accelerator to get up to speed since you'll have a traffic-free runway to do it and a lane divider from opposing traffic.

So I pull up to the red light at this interchange... I'm in the left lane, and a Lexus ES 350 is to my right. The light turns green and I pull onto the state highway at a pretty normal pace and decided to give it an Italian tune up when I hit the straight. The Lexus apparently took this as a challenge and had a little race with me. I think they were a tad surprised and maybe a bit miffed that they couldn't just blast past me immediately.
