Just curious how many EB Maverick owners are filling up with premium vs regular.

If you've tested the differences in fuel mileage or power, what are your results?

I've been using regular because of the price of fuel (~$4/gal around here) and I mostly commute on the highway.
I did run a few tanks of premium within the first 1500 miles, but I didn't notice a change in fuel mileage or power.
Getting about 25mpg average with 80% hwy at 75mph.

I run premium. Its about 40 cents difference, the 5 or 6 dollar difference per fill up is not a problem. Went from constantly getting 27-27.5 mpg per tank to 29.5-30 now. A lot of highway. Wether it helps or not ill just drink one less beer at the bar to cover the difference 😂

It would suck to be denied a warranty claim because you didn't follow the owners manual and use the proper fuel based on your temperature.

I am only getting like 18-19mpg. Am I just gunning it too much? Or maybe just too much city driving...

Why would I? Designed to run on 87
I actually think the ecoboost engines are made to run best on premium. At least that's what I read in 2020. But they'll run fine on 87 as well.

All my cars since '09 have required premium. It's just muscle memory at this point.

Yea…run best on premium but all that’s required is 87
If it runs best on premium that means it's designed for premium. The whole "using premium is better for all cars" thing is a myth. If the car was designed to run on 87, it actually shouldn't run better on premium. Octane literally is just the fuel's resistance to predetonation. It actually burns slower the higher octane it is. So if the car wasn't designed to run it, it really wouldn't benefit it. Most people who think it benefited their cars is mostly the placebo effect...

Your vehicle operates on regular unleaded
gasoline with a minimum pump (R+M)/2
octane rating of 87.
Some fuel stations, particularly those in
high altitude areas, offer fuels posted as
regular unleaded gasoline with an octane
rating below 87. The use of these fuels
could result in engine damage that will not
be covered by the vehicle Warranty.
For best overall vehicle and engine
performance, premium fuel with an octane
rating of 91 or higher is recommended. The
performance gained by using premium fuel
is most noticeable in hot weather as well
as other conditions, for example when
towing a trailer. See Towing a Trailer

I was just going to post this. I run ethanol free 90 octane and get 27 mpg with mixed driving. Some people should learn to read the owners manual.
