I did find that the steelies are 3lbs heavier each than the standard XLT wheel.

Small update. Looks like I am at the limit of the fuel system on E30. It isn't getting any knock, but it's not keeping up with the fuel flow being comanded. My options are few at this point, if I want to shoot for 11s. I really don't want to spend big money on auxiliary fuel, or a larger high pressure fuel pump, so I may look at gains in other departments.

So, if you go with a Corsair turbo, or Ranger/Explorer turbo, you can expect around 420-430hp at the crank on E30 fuel!

I'd like to interject and ask for some clarification as the 2022 - 2023 Lincoln Corsair does not have a 2.3 Ecoboost engine. For 2022 - 2023 model years, the options are the 2.0T at 250hp or 2.5 Hybrid. So the question I have is does the Corsair have a 2.3 turbo mounted on a 2.0T engine? I know first hand on the engine size because I have a 2022 Corsair and it is definitely a 2.0T EB.

The 20-21 model years have a 2.3T option. I thought the 2022 did as well. They also make a 2.0T like you have.

No, they didn't put the 2.3T turbo on the 2.0T, the 2.0T would be identical to ours in the Maverick.

Hope that is clear.

Both the steelies and the aluminum rims both weigh in at 27lbs, from what I have heard. I have a plan, that can drop me down 16lbs each corner, but I don't know that I have the cash for it, lol.
Ive been through every wheel available for the maverick that meets the load requirements and I sure have never seen one that weighs 11 lbs. Please tell.

I'm not saying the wheel weighs 11 lbs, but the wheel/tire combo I'm looking at drops it 12lbs for the wheel, and 4lbs for the tire, for a total sprung weight of 16lbs per corner.

Konig hypergrams in a 17x7.5" size weigh 15.xx lbs each, and the tire I was looking at was a 27.2" diameter that weighed roughly 23lbs each, so about 4lbs off each corner, not to mention the gearing advantage going from 28.5" diameter to 27.2" diameter, roughly 4.5% change in effective gearing change.

Hopefully that makes sense. I think if I go this route, I can achieve roughly 118-120mph, and high 11 quarter mile times.

Are you sure you're not being limited by the in tank lpfp? I upgraded my LPFP to a deatschwerks on my Focus ST at Bren tuning's advice. I had a lot of mods on it to include a ported turbo with a larger billet compressor wheel and I thought they said the stock HPFP was good up to around 5-600hp.

A focus ST HPFP is almost certainly not good for that much power. If I am remembering correctly, the RS used a 4 lobe HPFP(which was good for a bunch more), while the ST used a 3 lobe like all the other 2.0T engines. This is from research, all in the last few months, so don't take this as gospel. All the ST content I have watched basically came to the same conclusion that low 300whp was getting towards the limit on E30 or E50.

Now, in saying that, the Maverick has a 3600psi pump compared to the older models having a 3000psi pump, so my only option that I am looking at is upgrading the intank pump to something like a walbro 450 or 525. I have no interest in upgrading the HPFP, if and when they come out. I have $1200 into this project, and I'm ok spending a couple more hundred on an intank pump, but damn sure not ok with spending $2600 for very little gains.

Also, we have another issue! I am maxing out the factory MAP sensor! 22.5psi is all the sensor can handle.

Sorry for the long read!

If you’re looking to cut costs on the wheels 1010 Tires claims the Enkei j10 16x7 wheels will fit. Theyre 16lb and only $130 each.

I've seen those wheels, but never looked to see if they had 17s. I figured if all version's of the mav had 17s, that maybe 16s wouldn't fit. I've also had the wheels off a bunch and it looked pretty tight on the caliper. I'll have to look again.

Side note: I may have stopped looking at them due to load rating, I want to say it was only 12xx pounds per wheel. That is probably too weak to be on a Mav.

I was wrong! Load rating of 1520lbs! I think that is the same as most of the Konig wheels I've been looking at! I'll have to check out what I can find for tires for that combo!

Thanks for the heads up!

Last year I tried a set of 16x7.5 MSW wheels and the calipers hit the inner barrel. I gave up trying to find 16s after that, but I was playing with the 1010Tires offset calculator the other day and noticed they had -1 wheel options tabs.
I’d definitely reach out to them before ordering.
I know TireRack has the 17” version of these wheels and they’re the same price as the 16s and only 1lb more.

Hey guys, I've been inching down on the quarter mile with QuikRik, and in this cold weather it's gone insanely fast! The E30 must really love the open downpipe!

Full mods list are as follows:

2020-2021 Lincoln Corsair 2.3T turbocharger

Rev9 Focus RS intercooler

Homemade 3" intake with cone filter

3" homemade downpipe

No Exhaust

5Star tuning E30 tune(will be trying to push it harder as well)

Weight reduction: tailgate, passenger seat, rear seats. (Somewhere around 190ish poinds)

And the best part is, I'm into this project for roughly $1200!

Enjoy! Hope this will serve as inspiration for others to create their own monsters!

any frame stiffening or suspension mods? I presume you also removed the spare tire also.
