I earned 41,000 FordPass points (worth $205) and $100 statement credit by using the FordPass Rewards Visa for a $3000 Down Payment when I purchased my Maverick XLT Hybrid on December 13th.

The dealership had a limit of $3000 allowed on a Credit Card. If they had allowed $6000 I would have earned the full 71,000 FordPass Points (worth $355) plus $200 statement credit.

I always pay off my credit cards in full so I pay no interest.

I was going to put down $8000 in cash and finance the remaining $18,000 with Ford Credit 36 month/0% loan.

I still did put down the $8000 but as $5000 in cash/check and the other $3000 on the FordPass Rewards Visa card. When I received my FordPass Rewards Visa statement this month I paid $2900 to it and applied the $100 statement credit to the balance so that the card had been paid in full.

The 41,000 FordPass points I earned plus the remaining balance of 23,116 now has given me a total of 64,116 points worth $320.58.

I plan to use those points in purchasing a Hard Drop-in bedliner from fairwayfordparts.net

Did the dealer charge you a fee for using your credit card for the down payment? I ask as in the past when purchasing vehicles in both Illinois & Wisconsin, the dealers have said I need to pay a service fee of 1~2.5% (can't remember the exact percentage).

Or perhaps since its a Ford CC, Ford is not allowing dealers to charge such a fee.

I plan on getting a Ford CC when I know my Hybrid is headed to production.

I inquired first about fees. All I was told was that I could put a max of $3000 on it for the down payment.

I was not charged any fee for using the FordPass Rewards Visa credit card.

Is Fairway Ford local to you so you can just pick it up?

When I add the drop-in liner to my cart, it says shipping is $14.95. I have a hard time believing they can ship that large of an item for that price. If that's really the case, I'll likely order one from them as well.
Fairway Ford is not local to me as they are in OHIO.

I ask for NATE for orders because he is the only one who knows how to use the FordPass points on an order and he only works Mon-Fri.

Smart! Let your spending work for you. I started doing this many years ago using a cash back CC for every single purchase. Requires discipline to pay off the balance every month. Definitely do not want to pay interest charges. Year after year I cash in over $800 +. Purchased a Bronco Sport back in Sept and learned about the Ford Points. Got 42,000 points which is $210.00. Signed up for the Ford Visa CC. In 4 months have already earned a $300 statement credit and up to $71,000 points now. Looking forward to getting new toys for when my Maverick arrives.

Which one did you add?

NZ6Z-9900038-A is Local Pickup Only

or

NZ6Z-9900038-ASP

The other good think about fairwayfordparts.net is that they do not charge sales tax.

I also have the Ford card too. This is effectively 3.3 (correction 3.8) percent minimum value back on the first 6,000 in purchases. I really like the card. I have a bunch of category cards that get 5 percent but use this one when nothing else fits. I also have used it for a few ford accessories and of course my down payment.

edit - I didn’t even include the bonuses. The 3.8 percent is the minimum annual percent back if you hit 6,000 each year. Fantastic card!

Actually I see 5% rebate on Ford Purchase/Service costs.

30,000 points ($150 value) on $3000 Service Cost charge equals 5%.

The bonus of 11,000 points ($55 value) plus the $100 statement credit gave me back $305 or 10.2%

For those who can get the entire $6000 put on it they will earn 60,000 points ($300 value) plus 11,000 bonus points ($55 value) plus the $200 statement credit or $555 which is 9.25%

I think you got really lucky getting 10 points per dollar, or 10 percent points (5 percent cash value) on purchases when it should have been 5 percent points (2.5 percent cash value). I will see what I got for my $1,000 down payment.

I should have specified I was just speaking for the annual recurring benefits without including the bonuses. I did mess up as it would be 3.8 percent minimum for the first $6,000. $200 annual statement credits and $30 in Ford points. That of course is the minimum and it is likely to get more in Ford points from the categories. Really good card to use. It’s always in my wallet.

I was just approved for a FordPass CC. I plan on making a DP with it when I pick up my Maverick this week.

They put my $3000 down payment as "Ford Service" which is why I got back the 10% in points

FYI: For those who will ask their dealerships to put the down payment on the FordPass Visa card request that they put it in as "Service" so you also get the 10% back.

-ASP. I just can't believe they can ship an entire drop-in liner for $15. If I tried to ship something that large it would likely cost more than the item is worth :ROFLMAO:. Do you have an email for Nate or should I just call Monday?

Great idea. I was going to get a ford CC to use for service to milk for points. Putting the DP on it is genius.
