Greetings all. My ‘24 Hybrid Lariat has approximately 16k miles on it. I love my truck! Lately though it seems the back left corner of the driver seat has become very uncomfortable, like a lump is below. I thought I was being hypersensitive, but it really has become uncomfortable. What could have shifted or broken? Thanks for your help!

Maybe something wrong with the lumbar support or try to readjust?

Depends exactly where in the seat bottom; could be a couple of things.
  • Broken hog ring (pretty unlikely with normal use)
  • Upholstery plastic track could have popped out the channel (req above to occur)
  • Upholstery partially folded under itself (it's pretty taut from factory, seems unlikely)
  • Assuming lux, heated seat pad got dislodged / folded under itself
Considering it's under warranty, I'd take to dealer to get looked at if you can't massage out the lump from over the upholstery.

If you want to explore under the upholstery yourself, this is what you'd be looking at (minimum):
  1. Pull seat (optional, recommended)
  2. two elastic straps from back cover to seat bottom underside
  3. two plastic clips on seat bottom to release rear of upholstery
  4. pull rear of upholstery through (including said clips)
  5. There are 4 hog rings holding the upholstery in for the rear horizontal seat bottom. Assuming lump is beyond these, cut them out.
  6. feel around for lump / fix
  7. replace hog rings (w/ hog rings or zip ties)
  8. reverse steps 1-3
If you want a sense as to what's under the cover, I recommend this video: link @38min in.

Obviously your wallet is getting too fat from all the money you're saving on gas, time to buy accessories! lol

I feel like I've come across that on other vehicles some time back, and unlikely but I think it can happen that the split lines up just when you land in the seat too hard for some reason, and it just pops off.
