Sadly, It is a common problem, that has been reported on this forum for years, starting as early as 20,000 miles may be less.
Cheapest parts from the cheapest vendor syndrome.
There are upgraded axles that are being used.
Good luck

Complain to Ford Corp and the NHTSA. We need to force a recall...

You only have a recall if life safety is involved. That’s why so many car manufacturers have chronic defects but are not covered by the manufacturer after the warranty expires.

It'd be great if Ford ended up running a Customer Satisfaction Program for these axles. They must know it's an issue...

I'd argue this is a safety issue. If a CV axle fails while the car is driving that could be very bad

My '24 Maverick goes into the Ford dealer tomorrow morning for a RR half shaft replacement, 10,400 miles, and I baby it.

Rear ones going bad are rare on this forum, especially at such low mileage.

To be honest I was really interested in getting a 2024 as I preferred the grill, and dash of the truck to the 2025. But after digging around here on the forum it is the CV issues and a couple of other reported oddities that pushed me to just order the 2025 where they "may" have fixed some of this. The extended warranty may be worth considering.

Yea, as soon as I was told the RR half shaft needed to be replaced, I contacted Granger Ford and bought an extended warranty. Cost me $1000 plus some FordPass points, but probably worth it. Hope I never have to use it.

I agree with you. But until the NHTSA sees it as a safety issue, nothing will be done, recall wise. 🤷‍♂️

Same here. Checked mine at 59k then found the boot leaking at 63k. Only replaced passenger side and keeping an eye on drivers side. Costed about $700 at dealer and may do the next myself.

2022 maverick with front end vibration and harmonic - diagnosed with drive axle failure at 68000 miles-whats up with that?
CV axle failure is very common. Do a search or scroll to the bottom of this thread to see many other posts about it.

The CV axles have been redesigned, the new ones are stronger and should last significantly longer. Since yours is out of warranty, just take it to a trusted mechanic, if desired, and have them replace both sides while they're at it. It's not an overly complicated job. You should be able to continue driving it until the parts are obtained.
