I have a 2.4 Trailhawk Renegade. Overall nice rig but it would need serious changes to compete with the Maverick.I could see stretching the Jeep Renegade into a pickup. I think that would be a hot seller.
Put in more power and level it a bit and it would sell, assuming they can produce them.https://moparinsiders.com/ram-latam-introduces-its-updated-ram-1000-compact-pickup-truck/
Only gets a 1.3l (non turbo) etorque @ 139hp or a 2l turbo diesel @ 170hp....
You don't want that engine. They've been stuffing various versions of the thing into European econo-boxes for almost 20 years and they all eventually end up with cooling problems.Looks like a toned down Santa cruz.....the diesel would interest me except non Cummins Diesels from dodge have a less than stellar reputation to be nice. .
Unless it's a 392 Wrangler unlimited RubiconRebadged Fiat Toro. Friends don't let friends buy Chryslers.
180 HP that tows 2,000 pounds sounds an awful lot like a hybrid Maverick. Of course Jeep would need to offer different powertrains but a compact Jeep truck would be a hot seller.I have a 2.4 Trailhawk Renegade. Overall nice rig but it would need serious changes to compete with the Maverick.
180hp isn’t enough as is., the handling would have to be improved and it only has a 2000 pound tow capacity.
So they would not only have to add a couple of feet for the box, and design all that, plus add about 70hp without lowering fuel economy, update the handling and double the tow capacity.
all while keeping about the same sticker price.
Thats a tough go.
What kind of friend lets a friend spend $80K on a 14mpg Wrangler?Unless it's a 392 Wrangler unlimited Rubicon![]()
Base model or 4xe. All other Wranglers are a waste of money, space, or both.LOL nobody buys a 392 Wrangler for the gas mileage.
