Hello,
I found this new site from bronco6. I’m really hopeful this new truck will be like the bronco sport.

same platform right? C2 like the bronco sport and escape.

same engines?

same bolt patterns for the most part

if this truck is at all like the bronco sport I’ll have to stand in line.

I’m hopeful for
High mpg
Rubberized floors
Ground clearance
GOAT modes would be so cool but not necessary.
I really want factory AUX switches, it’s so easy and clean.

what do you think?
or will it be something completely different

Same platform as the Sport and maybe engines also. I think the earlier rumors were that it would actually be part of the Bronco family but that seems debunked now. With the lower price point and margin I would think Ford would want as many shared components as possible.

The videos of the Bronco Sport at Moab are pretty impressive. Different purposes for this truck but still it bodes well for the Maverick's performance.

Here's my take on the Maverick truck:

2.0L EcoBoost
8 speed automatic
Looks like the Bronco Sport (front especially) and has the same dimensions (height, width, interior specs like rear legroom)
50" or 52" bed length and bed width (to carry cutdown plywood/drywall)
Some decent/bold exterior paint colors
Maybe a couple interior colors and seat types (cloth + leatherette/vinyl)
LED headlights on all trims
2" hitch receiver (not to tow, but to accept all of my current trays, etc...)

Ford designers hit it out of the park with the Bronco and Bronco Sport designs IMO so I got faith in how the Maverick will look. I think they'll differentiate it from the Bronco Sport. If the Maverick was going to basically look like a Bronco Sport with a truck bed then they could have just called it a Bronco "xxxxx" since they're making Bronco an entire a sub-brand anyway.

Fact that they're giving it another separate name hints that it'll at least look different than the Bronco Sport.

I think there will be some cross over in terms of engine, suspension and possibly other parts but as far as design goes it should be very different. I agree with Serge that the different nameplate ensures it will be very distinct. Even the Bronco and Bronco Sport have very distinct design.

The one thing I think we are all hoping is it will be just as capable as the Bronco Sport has proven to be in early reviews.
