Thank you
I ordered all the parts tonight - hoping they get here for my Christmas vacation ...

Clarification please - I need BOTH the updated turn signal stalk w/ Lane keeping button AND the steering wheel button as well? It looks like there is a steering wheel button for Lane keeping already .....
You need both. The stalk is lane assist (works whenever you drive, kind of like a ping pong) and the steering wheel is lane center (only works with ACC/iACC, the "hands free" steering)

Looking at the part number from for it seems this is what fits the Maverick "Distance Sensor - Ford (JX7Z-9E731-E)". It looks like it also fits these other vehicles (see below). Would this mean all of these vehicles, sitting in junkyards around the country, could have the sensor harvested and used on our Mavericks?

It was one of the part sites. I looked at a few others and it was the same list. The part number came from the official ford parts website.

The issue would be getting the Maverick firmware onto the CCM from another model.

On my first attempt at adding adaptive, I was using a Ford Escape one. Forscan could not calibrate the sensor, it would hang at 100% and never calibrate. Their is also the issue of programming the vin into the CCM from another model where the CCM will throw and "incompatible" code due to the first couple digits of the vin. The first couple digits state the platform or model. I can't remember.

I ended up buying a Maverick CCM and that install went flawlessly.

If somebody can end up getting the correct software from the Maverick that we can flash onto other CCM's. I still have the Ford Escape one and would definitely try again to flash it and see if it will calibrate. But since my Maverick CCM works, I abandoned trying to find the firmware.

Could someone recommend which product to buy for the following? Links would be really appreciated too!
  • Heat shrink solder connectors
  • Heat shrink tubing
  • Fuse tap
  • High-heat-rated automotive harness tape
  • Terminal distribution block or ring crimp terminal
  • Power/ground wire
  • Canbus low/high wire
For the....
WPT-11988-pin pigtail for radar sensor
the best price I can find is $42.

Should I get that or this??? https://www.ebay.com/itm/234430420120?hash=item3695245498:g:Hq4AAOSwZXZiETde&amdata=enc:AQAHAAAA8Dy3IqhWFTYboR7WgUnH/nyr2LWD0J5SxvFXKCPOPQ4waV5n6rmlHxZjcWCAxAVAaT3aoJiepCby6zzOr16a3s35WjXGJ7n/pOlzP1MB57kCXty5oqQzWDzcAiT1fj/e7cT18kcUzPmEdexmzKzo8wxUOPKU0inHlNBEvckLDrC2W7AZZMjgfuZGyYfwDomCaVdsUFgR3OjyWU1jYTC9Dj2i8hvnkiiSnwUWGKFY39Ls61x5/1/OBtkUvWQnzTgKZFe7/d0j/5jqc7XHQY7f4XVixMvfEmKOyB6E2VLQK0qu8W+vSBgWjhpNS5bn+HBLSA==|tkp:BFBM4r6e0qVh

This all looks pretty good. It's pretty much what I paid for my all my parts.

For the CCM pigtail, I bought that exact one. You might need to waterproof the connector a bit(Clear silicone) though as I noticed on mine from the same vendor that the terminals are a little exposed on the backside.

For the odds and ends I bought this from Amazon. Some stuff I already had like the ring terminal and wire for the CCM(I used Cat5E cable)

Fuse Tap
Harness Tape
Heat Shrink connectors

You can get away with buying Cat5e wire at home depot. About 20ft should do.

I’ve been taking some photos along to way to add to the original post… I’ve been waiting for 2 weeks for the pigtails for the camera , so I’m stuck on that step now.

All in all - it‘s not really too tough of an install except for IPMA (camera) mod - which isn’t too bad once you figure it out. I had CC, LKA, and TSR working already so I’m hoping the coding will go smoothly for this install as well. Honestly - the part that takes the longest is removing the bumper assembly… other than that it’s pretty straightforward!

Thank you all for contributing here - I am so thankful for all the insights ….

Does anyone try to add an acc with the lariat trim ? I ordered the lariat 2022 with luxury packages and co pilot 360. Have been wait for so long and finally I got the truck but it is 2023 and ford decided that the acc”co pilot 360 assist” is an add on and my dealer didn’t let me know . So know my 2023 lariat doesn’t have an acc and I am trying to do it after market but didn’t know what is the parts should I get is there anything different between the XLt xl and lariat . Thank you

first, this is an amazing write up--really really REALLY great job!

Do you happen to have any more photos of the sensor, and the sensor cover and how they connect?

I am actually getting a lariat lux with the ACC already installed. I don't have it yet of course but I think i want to change the grill to an aftermarket raptor style. I know I will need to do some cutting in order to make it fit but I'm not totally sure how everything connects. I can wait until I get my truck of course and then figure it out but dreaming and scheming makes the wait a little more barrable. Would be very appreciative for anything you might have!

Hey guys,

Thank you for the write up. I just finished installing everything. I am currently having problems in Forscan. It does not seem to be detecting the CCM as a module when scanning. I get a DTC from the Forward looking sensor and a few other ones.

I did change the values hoping that it would trigger the CCM to show up on Forscan.

I tried disconnecting the neg battery and resetting DTC's for an hour to no avail.

I used those heat shrink wrap with those solder rings in the middle, maybe the solder connectors I used aren't solid?

I had this issue as well and mine was because I installed the can wires in reverse in the camera. Double check that you have them in the correct spot and the pin numbers are right looking at the front of the connector.

When launching forscan and connecting, you need to scan for new modules by creating a new profile. When that pop up comes up don't use the old profile since that will only have a list of modules from whenever first did the profile.

Thanks for the quick replies.

After setting the values back to factory, the DTC's disappear.

I did make sure not to use my old profile.

I will have to take the bumper apart and check the solder connections, I have a feeling one of the connections wasn't done right.
