AWD, I want to be able to head to Lake Tahoe in the winter and not worry about it

Did you choose all wheel drive or front wheel drive and why?
2WD because I wanted the hybrid fuel economy more than the 4WD turbo ecoboost. Replacing a FWD compact car, do no loss in traction getting a FWD Maverick. (If they offered a hybrid 4WD I would have chosen it.)

Mine will be FWD. I want the highway fuel mileage. I do not foresee fuel costs going down. I do not tow anything heavy. Once a year my zero turn mower to the shop for service in the spring.

After watching some dude in a Civic navigate the old Borax trail in Death Valley several years ago, I decided right then and there, I needed my AWD Explorer like I need my ex wife back. ;) 🤣

2WD because I wanted the hybrid fuel economy, won't need any off-road capability and no snow in my area of North Carolina

FWD Eco. Because I drive a ton but still wanted the HP gain and 8 speed tranny while trying to sacrifice minimally for mpg's. I do live in the snow belt of Ohio but have had numerous RWD Rangers and F-150's (aka, I know how to drive in crappy weather). Plus I WFH and the wife has a 2021 Subaru Forrester with Symmetrical AWD if the snow really hits the fan.

I'll be using my Mav as a do-everything vehicle and FWD Hybrid does not check all the boxes for me. Despite a popular assumption, we don't all live in a California-type climate and have the option to work from home.

It's funny to see the "its all about saving money" people argue against AWD Ecoboost on a forum about a brand new vehicle. If you wanna save money I'll sell you my 2006 Corolla with 225k miles for $3k.. thats ~$22k less than the XLT! Gets better highway mileage than the hybrid too!!!
$3500 difference plus a dip in fuel economy isn't something to chalk up as chump change.

AWD because of snow here in Canada. I had an Escape a few years ago that had AWD and it did well in the winter.

AWD for the 4K tow primarily, plus IRS, plus added winter/gravel/dirt road capacity.

Really wish a PHEV AWD Mav was an option.....

Yeah the other reason I wanted the AWD was because my son goes to school in upstate NY which is only a short drive from that lovely Canadian snow.
