I just wanted to make a post on here to say my expectations were greatly exceeded when buying my Maverick (Hybrid XLT w/Lux Package) yesterday from Walt Sweeney Ford in Cincinnati, Ohio.
I have read on here about people being unable to use their Farm Bureau rewards while also keeping their price protection and lower financing rates. Walt Sweeney Ford was able to revert my pricing back to my initial August 17 order date, as well as let me get 0.9% for 48 months and get my $500 Farm Bureau cash incentive.
I came in with $13,200 cash (from the sale of my 2014 Honda CR-Z to CarMax), $500 down (initial reservation) and $500 Farm Bureau incentive for a total of $14,200 down.
I was charged a $250 Doc fee (maximum allowed by Ohio) and $35 in filing fees which are required. All-in, I financed $14,169.33 for a total price of $28,369.33 after the 6.5% sales tax and fees. MSRP for my build was $26,355.00.
I inquired about using a FordPass Rewards Visa in order to pay some or all of my down payment (Ford gives 5% back in FordPass Points for purchases from a Ford dealership) but was told that I would have an additional 3% charge for credit card processing fees on top of it, so it did not make sense in my situation to pay 3% more for 5% back in points (net 2% back if I use the points for service/accessories.)
They didn't try to force any add-on services or packages. My salesman Brett did offer their paint protection package (said it's normally ~$1490 but offered it for $750) and did not press when I declined it. The financing lady was very pleasant as well. She offered the Ford ESP plans and immediately moved on when I declined them (going through another Ford dealership for $50 over cost for the 8yr/100,000 mile PremiumCare warranty, only $990).
All-in, the actual buying process took about 20 minutes from start to finish. My Maverick was loaded on a truck from the Rail Yard in Shelbyville yesterday, 4/19 at around 7AM. It arrived at my dealership right around noon and I was there to pick it up at 4PM after work. By 4:30PM I was on my drive home.
The only thing missed, which is not a big deal, was the Ford FITS Accessory Kit which Ford emailed in October 2021 stating my order would receive a complimentary kit due to the wait. The dealer was not informed about it beforehand but I simply forwarded my email from Ford and was told they would reach out for me. I know others have stated the accessory kit arrived after the truck was delivered so it's fully understandable.
