Happy thanksgiving to all, I installed a nice bad ass trailer hitch bumper, with the four pin connector, worked great for a couple days and last night I started getting all kinds of alerts on my dash. Trailer light right side not working and my rear alert not working. Called ford for an appointment for next Wednesday. I then decided to remove the bumper hitch and all messages disappeared, anyone experienced this? May the hitch backend was too long. Bumper was still working.

Maybe a bad hitch bumper. Have you tried plugging it in on a different vehicle to see the the issue still happens?

No I haven’t don’t have another vehicle handy to test it, but the bumper was working fine lights and turn signals.

Some Ford vehicles get a little wonky when anything other than a trailer is plugged into the 4-pin connector, especially if it involves LED lights. It seems the truck thinks a trailer is attached when anything is connected to the 4-pin connector. The LED lights do not draw enough power and the truck thinks the traitor lights are malfunctioning. I found this out when I tried installing a tailgate light bar and it gave me all kinds of warnings and finally blew a 2A fuse. After that, nothing gets plugged into the 4-pin connector unless I am pulling a trailer.
