People never understand what short run manufacturing costs. I'm a machinist by trade and I would have to charge $150 a set to make it worth my while. For $75 a set that is a steal.

I couldn't help but drop my jaw when I saw the original people saying they'd be in for a pair @ ~$20.. these are probably the same folks wondering why the aftermarket isn't just booming for this truck. Just think about it; if you sell a simple idea like this to the F-150 community, they'd hand you $100 for a set all day. Make a simple idea like this for a truck like the RAM TRX, those folks would probably give you $150 a set and maybe even buy a second set as a spare even though they'll never need it... Goofy examples but maybe some of you will get my point. The aftermarket simply can't take off for this truck when folks only offer to pay $20 for something that very well should be selling for $100.. this is why a lot of companies respond "NO, nothing planned for the Maverick."

Whenever my Maverick is finally built & I *know* it's on it's way (I'm guessing sometime late this summer since I'm an October Hybrid Lariat Lux order), I'd like to order a set, but given the uncertainty of when/if I'm going to see a truck, I'm uncomfortable ordering them yet.
If I get rolled over to a MY23 build and if another manufacturer comes out with an affordable hybrid or EV truck that'll fit in my garage ... I may end up going another route. But for this year, the Maverick is my only option.

Amazing Work √So here’s what I did today. I wasn’t crazy about having to lose one of the tie downs when I installed the tail gate assist so I went and built ones that will fit and work with the assist. Only needed one but it would have drove me crazy having them mismatched, So I made 2. Made them out of stainless but I’ll probably powder coat them black so they don’t stand out as much.
