Ford realized a week ago that that weird cardboard thing on the floor next to the flex bed design was their eCVT that nobody ever finished working on so now they are cramming to work on it. Their current goal is to make a eCVT that last up to 1,000 miles before imploding. Then they can deal with it in a recall that they should have sorted out by mid 2025. The hybrid actually costs more to produce than the EcoBoost.

Ford priced the EcoBoost as an "upgrade" so that customers would get sucked in and "step up" to it, thinking that they are getting something better.

Ford expected customers to fall for this and for 60% of the orders to be for higher profit margin EcoBoost, thus lining Ford's pockets.

When 60% of customers opted for the hybrid, Ford delayed hybrid production to get them to switch to the more profitable EcoBoost.

This is supposed to be reserved for conspiracy theories not the cold hard truth
