Console tray pop out section

I’m taking a look at some things in the truck and took out the rubber insert. In the back right there is a panel that pops out. Anyone know what this is for? Tried searching but came up empty. Took a photo with it popped off.

That's a good question.. I have never taken out the rubber insert so did not know that was there.

Manual Park Release, check the Auto Trans section in the owners manual. Let's you get her out of park in the event of an electrical failure. There is supposed to be a tether down in there that you pull...

There is nothing there on my hybrid. I was told on another site that the ecoboost has that pull tab, but the hybrid does not. So I guess it has no function on this model. Maybe can be used for a mod of some sort.

Manual transmission release to get out of park for towing.supposed to have a " key" in the glovebox.my maverick didn't come with one.

No tether.suppoosed to be a metal " key" in the glovebox? Saw this on the site a cpl days ago.

I don’t realize there would be a difference in the console hybrid vs ecoboost.

I think it’s the shifter release in that whole.
