What Year/Model did you grab your VIN from? Because no matter what I select, I get a message saying the Kia parts site cannot verify fitment. Thank you in advance!
I believe 2008. If that doesn’t work, try looking up part number online and it may give you fitment models. That’s what I did. Then I searched that year of car online for sale and copied its vin

Very good deal if your into that (y)
I prefer things low tech, my garage door opener does not support wifi connection and works just fine, so just like you I press a button on my clicker. The MAV has a compass on the dash display, as far as dimming it's just a flip of a lever. My brothers love the high tech stuff and swear by it
I did however buy one of those newfangled thermostats for my house then found out that power companies can control it without your consent. So it sits in a drawer just teasing them HAHA.

I'm at a loss here....Anyone have a intermittent power issue with their mirror when tapping into the purple/white wire in the overhead console. It all seems to lose poser while driving at night. If I pull out of the garage the next day into the sunlight, everything begins working again until I drive the vehicle again at night. I am pulling all power from the purple/white wire to power the HomeLink and compass/auto-dimming features. There was a post that said something about pulse width modulation, which I am not familiar with, that could be on the purple/white circuit??
Any help here would be great.
See this post. https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/cheap-auto-dimming-homelink-mirror.8346/post-573477 The voltage on that wire varies with the setting of the dash lights brightness. Try turning you dash lights up to full brightness and see if you still have the problem.

Over the last 6 months, I ordered and received 2 of the mirrors. First time, they sent an email asking for VIN for verification, and I responded that I did not have it but would take responsibility for fitment and not look for a return. They shipped it. The second order, I just added a note with the order that I would take responsibility without a VIN. It came as well. I think they just want to avoid return problems...not that they don't want to sell them.

Over the year and a half I watched them go in and out of stock and about half the time they call it out of production instead of just out of stock. Good luck!

HDave, I posted this earlier today. I think it may help your situation.

Just a heads up to the guys having issues with cancelled orders regarding the Kia mirror, go online and grab an arbitrary vin from a Kia that takes that mirror and attach it to the order when prompted. I had my order cancelled twice, and the third time I attached a vin and had the mirror 4 days later. I’ve suggested this on a few different forums and Fb pages and everybody has had success doing this

Thanks I'll try this.
Curious which Kia vehicle you used the VIN from?

I believe it was a 2008 but can’t remember the model. I think I googled the part number and it showed me a fitment list. After that I looked up those Kia’s for sale online and copied the vin

I got on AutoTrader, found some random KIA Sorento, and copied the VIN. Nobody asked any questions

Just checking to see if anyone has had success in the last couple weeks in submitting an order that wasn’t canceled? I have tried multiple websites with multiple of the “cheap” mirror models. I haven’t had any success when attempting to order with or without random Kia vin numbers attached.

Just for info....I hooked up both my compass and the homelite to the constant power source line. I clocked it multiple times on my Lariat and at 10 minutes after shutting a door the power to the mirror is completely dropped. If I close the doors and use the remote lock feature, the power again drops right at the 10 minute mark. That is nowhere near enough of a time delay for me to worry about a battery drain issue over a 22 gauge wire with the size of the 2.0L battery. The truck will allow headlights to remain on for 30 seconds after closing a door for safety (3 minutes auto off if there were no door changes - battery minder) and these headlights use a lot more current than that homelite mirror.

I’m looking to install this today. I’ve read previous posts but most have 3 wires. I’ve seen others had 4 wires but different colours. Can someone steer me in the right direction here?

Thanks

Still waiting to see if somebody can give me some help with the 4 wire connector. As a previous poster had 4 different colored wires than i do.

I'm thinking the following:

Black - in the mirror harness will be my ground of course (splice into the black wire of the harness)
Green - Constant 12v (homelink) (splice into yellow wire of the harness)
Blue - Intermittent 12v ( splice into purple wire of the harness)

Am i thinking this right? or is my wiring mixed up??

Just guessing here, but i would make assumption that black is the ground. Others not sure. I think you might be able to test different wires by connecting them to 9v battery and see what happens.

would be good of you to post results back here along with model number of mirror you purchased. .
