I just sold one today and got 5k over MSRP and thats fine. Some of the online guys are starting to make low ball offers but Carvana was the highest but when I let the 7 day offer expire and the next offer was less so its just a numbers game with those guys. Actually my daughter sold it for me on Facebook marketplace but a dealer made the best offer. I think I could if held out for more but sometimes its just easier with a dealer, took them 20 minutes to look at the the truck and write me the check. Most private party buyers want a clear title (I would) and I could of paid off the Ford note but thats another week or two to get the title and another buyer may not be there in two weeks.
I think the Hybrid gets a more attention hence your better offer over MSRP. I made a decent profit since I paid less then MSRP and the funds will help pay for the other Maverick in my garage.

Agree that Carmiga was 100% pleasant to work with.

As far as the fee goes, I suspect that they are charging both sides (Dealer buyer and seller). Also- keep in mind trucking costs, which I assume Dealer buyer is paying as well.
You hit the nail on the head.

Pretty much my experience too. Had it listed on Facebook, Craiglist, etc. Got a lot of hits, some lowballs, but the dealers made the best offers and were easiest to work with. One of their guys drove out here yesterday to look at it, told me that he'd send two guys today with a check to pick it up. They showed up, handed me my check, and drove off. Doesn't get much easier than that.

I checked all the big online companies just in case but the offers were kinda lousy. CarGurus offered $19,900 (LOL) before sending me a follow up email saying they adjusted the offer to $20,300. Vroom offered $20,000.

(This is a Hybrid XLT with some add-ons)

Carvana made the best offer by far, which was $5,000 over MSRP. Still, the dealers I heard from all had that beat. The dealer I sold it to told me they had 40 people order a Maverick and to date have only delivered 3, and that Hybrids are still in big demand but remain impossible to find.

Anyway, that ends my Maverick story. Ordered it September 2021 with the intention of keeping it but life changed along the way, so 14 months later I am happy to walk away from it all with some spare change in my pocket.

Glad to hear things also worked out for you. I have been on this Maverick roller coaster starting in June of 2021 with 3 orders and the last one in Jan 2022. It was fun but time to get off the ride. I now have one Maverick in my garage and it should keep me happy for a few years. I still find it hard to fathom people spending over MSRP to buy anything let alone a depreciating asset even though the car market is a bit upside down right now.

I always bought the 2.0 because I wanted the tow package so the hybrid was never on my shopping list and after owning more than one Maverick I eventually settled the Lariat/XLT debate (for me) and a XLT is my final truck. Will also spend less time on this great forum and more time working on other projects around the house.

I hope all the other buyers still waiting for their trucks get them soon.

Just finished up all the transaction selling my RDX on Carmigo. All in all, a great experience, got $2200 more than my previous high offer. Tried local dealers, Carvana, Vroom, Car Max, etc...

Everyone at Carmigo was extremely quick to respond to questions & helpful across the board. I will definitely use them again for future sales.

If anyone wants to give it a try, and save $50 from the $350 seller fee, use my code L23J8P.

Thanks Carmigo!

@carmigo How do I close my listing? I've only received low ball offers on your site and for some reason there doesn't appear to be an option close or end my listing anywhere. I've tried it from mobile and laptop. The only option to select is the "Accept Highest Bid". My vehicle has sold locally for 5x the highest bid produced and I'd like to close the auction. Cargurus was very easy to edit and close out in comparison.

Hello there, thanks for reaching out. We can help you with this by canceling on our end. What name did you list your car with?

@carmigo had a great idea and we sold 2 of our vehicles through them last year. Now, however, they are in the crapper. They removed the transparency so you cannot watch bids come in live. They now just present you with terrible offers made by what a cursory google search shows to be possibly buy here, pay here lots? I guess the large dealer chains wanted nothing more to do with them.

Do not waste your time with Carmigo. Whatever they had, they blew it somehow. Now they're worse than the likes of Carvana, Carmax, Driveway, GiveMeTheVin - worse in that you're just presented an offer, only it takes them 24hr to insult you instead of it being right away.

If you are in GA in particular there is a site called Alphabid that works along the same principles that Carmigo started with. They have legitimate dealer chains and do not charge fees at all.

Also, in spite of insane resell values holding up pretty well for Mavericks, Carmigo has an article on their website claiming the Ford Maverick is one of the "worst" vehicles to sell. That should tell you something. 🙄 🙄

Well, that's certainly disappointing to hear. I too had good luck using them last fall to sell my RDX.
I hope they weigh in on how/why things have changed.

Hey @MLowe05
Sorry, you had a bad experience. We hate to see a returning seller have a bad experience. We haven't had much change to our dealership partners since your last sale, other than adding more buyers (a couple are buy-here-pay-here lots, but the majority are larger dealership groups). We recently made a change to simply share the final highest offer. The other way was causing a little bit of confusion with some sellers. We take seller and buyer feedback into account for all of our updates, so we'll mark you down as a vote against the current communications flow. As for the article on the site, according to the offers made on our marketplace, along with a few other market trends, we just aren't seeing used Marericks selling as well as they have in the past. That's partial because newer Mavericks are SUPER affordable compared to other new cars (the average new car price hit an all-time high last month). So people would rather buy a new 2023 Maverick for $25-$30K instead of a used one for $20-$25K. And since dealerships aren't willing to pay as much, Maverick sellers are less willing to sell. Mavericks were selling great a few months ago, but it's slowed down. The Red Light x Green Light report has nothing to do with how we feel about Mavericks (they're great). It was mostly intended to let Maverick owners know they probably won't be happy with any offers they get this month on our marketplace. We just try to make it as easy as possible for people to get a good price for their cars and for buyers to find quality used cars for their lots. If you can get a better price on Alphabid, take it! That's exciting. We're not the perfect fit for everyone, but we're helping lots of people sell cars for more than they could get from a local dealership or other online selling platforms every day. Hope that explanation works for you, but we understand if you have a bad taste in your mouth. @dalola, thanks for asking for our two-cents. And more importantly, thanks for trusting us with your RDX last fall.
