The original FWD Mav’s did not have front tow hooks at all, and instead just have the two sheetmetal holes as front tow point. Far less sturdy/convenient (IMHO), and was a topic of debate a while back.
The hybrid front recovery points are NOT "sheetmetal holes".

They are holes in quarter inch thick steel frame/chassis to put a recovery hook into.

You should go under your truck and take a look.

But they aren't fancy and showy!

Anyone wanting to pick a fight with @The Real Maverick on Mav Hybrids better have your ducks in a row....

He's busted my ass a few times now.

As much fun as that sounds, it wasn’t the point of my post :D

The “tow points” on the front of a hybrid are also not super easy to access, you can’t see your equipment hooked up to them because of where they are, and I also wonder if anyone has found a recovery hook yet that even fits nicely. I think it was you that did quite a bit of looking into different styles of hooks a while back? Did you ever find anything BTW? The last I recall of that thread, the hooks you tested either wouldn’t go in the hole at all, and/or wanted to fall back out (The holes face down and gravity can win).

If there was a point to any of this, it’s just that the front of a Mav hybrid is not a great option to tow/pull something (IMHO). I would include other member comments in this blanket statement, such as a Mav hybrid only using hybrid battery’s power when driving in reverse.

Not enough info, what kind of car? How deep is the ditch? How easy is the access? How stuck is it? Not too important if you can wait til after the end of the month so if it isn't yours let the car owner sort it out, if its yours why don't you play it safe and call a tow truck.

I wouldn't drag anybody's car out of a ditch if I just picked up any new Maverick. Period. 🙂

The fact you said "recovery hook" is all I need to know. You're going to kill yourself or someone else trying to recover you.

We use soft shackles and often referred to as a tree trunk (or axle) strap. Using anything metal these days to hook up and connect a vehicle to is asking for death.

It is very easy to throw a strap around the front axle with zero damage to the vehicle. Front tow hooks on a Maverick are for show. I would recover a Maverick with or without tow hooks in the same amount of time.

I think we are agreeing. I will never be putting chain/strap hooks on the front of my hybrid’s factory recovery holes, nor did I ever plan to, as I don’t like the design. Hooks can also turn into missiles when they slip or break. The unibody “hole” could deform/rip or get a hook stuck in there real good. No thanks.

I’ve broken $20 nylon tow straps (nothing to do with the Maverick), and that’s enough fun for me to avoid being a statistic. Recovery equipment has come a long way from just chains and hooks. But still, the front of the hybrid Mav is just not super friendly for recovery purposes. To me, it’s more “car” up front and not intended for such frequent use.

It was this thread…

https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...-recovery-points-what-to-do-when-stuck.36528/

…I was thinking of in my earlier post. And sorry, it was GPSMan (and others) whom I was also thinking of that was buying and trying different hook styles. I lost track of the older thread by about page 5 (of 8) since I have a better vehicle for recovery anyway. But this older thread is why I posed the question today concerning if the ‘25+ hybrids come with something better, considering the front facelift.

The other thread mentions combinations of equipment people tested like soft shackles, bridals, j-hooks, etc…. But combos (of multiple pieces needed all at once) could also get too complicated for the average person to piece together correctly and safely.

Statistics show 80% of people are above average. 🤓

Seriously through... a high percentage of people by the very fact they take time to come here and read up on topics will be.

If you read your manual, these holes are tiedown points, not recovery points. They are not intended to pull sideways, but to pull down to anchor the vehicle to the flatbed to vehicle.
