Camper towing -- what types of campers you are pulling and their weight?

It's a kit from a company called Chesapeake Light Craft. They mainly sell boat kits but they also created this little gem. I built it myself over the COVID year. Was a lot of fun!

Here's a few.It started as a stack of marine plywood and then got assembled into shape via a jig and the "stitch and glue" processes that's used on a lot of small boats. Basically you get it into the correct shape, put epoxy fillets in all the joints, then sheathe the entire thing with fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin. That effectively seals in the wood and gives it tremendous strength. Then you sand, sand, sand, cry, sand, swear, sand and varnish.

I'd say 20mpg pulling that is pretty darn good! What is the as-loaded weight?

I don't have my Maverick yet, but have a hybrid scheduled for production. I will be pulling this overland style square drop build for local trips once it's completed. Current weight estimate is around 1500 lbs. I will likely use my Jeep for most trips though.

You're going to be fine with that.
Go too light and wind will blow it around. 2000 lbs is a very conservative rating.

We have our new Scamp 16 ft. deluxe trim with a lot of options added. The dry weight was better that I thought...2198 pounds! My wife drove it 300 miles (I was home sick). She drove 55-65 mph (depending on the speed limit) with 19 mph cross wind. No swaying whatsoever! The Maverick gas mileage was great...over 22 mpg! I am very happy with our purchase and can't wait for Spring to come!!

I have the 2.0 Eco boost and I tow a Jayco Jay Feather 16XRB(technically sleeps 7, 3 piece bath, furnace and ac.) Dry weight on the camper is 2845. That being said I obviously have the 4k tow package. And if you look closely I have the husky sway bar setup. I have done thousands of KM's through the mountains and big slopes with trailers and this thing handles like a beast.

In the photo with the soil I am carrying 1 yard (1700Lbs) and the trailer is 550lbs. On regular ball receiver , almost no drop in the rear suspension at all.

Just hit 30k last week and the truck is still like day one for me!

Nothin fancy, 2002 Jayco Qwest 10X. Picked it up in Portsmouth, NH two weeks ago and drove it back to Bristol, CT. No problems at all with the Hybrid.
