So has anyone found a good chrome lug nut that properly fits the Bronco sport rims on the Maverick ? Apparently the holes are smaller on the Bronco wheels because they use a 12mm stud compared to the 14mm on the Maverick. This doesn’t allow some lug nuts to seat properly. Part numbers or links would be appreciated 🙂 Thank You !

I dont have them my self, but I read a post that had photos of the BS wheels on some Mavericks and they showed some lug nut options. They showed some damaged rims from having the wrong nut too.

One person just got some nuts from a local auto parts store. Others got so fancy black ones online.

Some of the Bronco Sport wheels looked really good on the Maverick so I can see why people go use them. But the xlt and fx4 rims look good too, so if I had those i would just keep them.

I think they were 14x1.5 lug-nuts.

Here is your tip of the day, go to Costco tire center, they have exactly what you need. Perhaps call ahead if its far away to confirm they have them.

We did 2 XL's with Bronco Sport Wheels and the lugs are perfect !

First pic works, second pic is a little too long for me.

Third pic shows the Costco Part #, hopefully you have one close by..............................

I have Bronco Sport First Edition (black) wheels on my Maverick XLT and they appear identical to the FX4 wheels (with the exception of the center caps) to include the lug nut seat angle, seat depth, and void around the nuts. I run the stock Maverick clad lugnuts plus Ford locks and engagement is perfect.

Mine were $940 shipped, no sales tax, from Levittown to include (4) new OEM TPMS. Great deal on high quality OEM replacement wheels.

I just have a hard time believing this is accurate information. This past week I’ve had bronco sport lugs next to factory chrome Maverick lugs, factory steel wheel lugs and aftermarket lugs.
The Bronco sport lugs that came from the factory are clearly much smaller in the coned seat area. Bronco sport lug is on the right factory Maverick on the left in the pic. Sorry I don’t have a pic of the factory chrome I’ve already returned them. The Bronco sport lugs drop into the seat area/void and feel locked in if you wiggle them. The factory Maverick lugs don’t go as deep and don’t feel locked in, You can wiggle them.
I’m sure factory Maverick lugs or F150 lugs ( or any 14mm 1.5 )will actually hold the wheel on BUT they certainly aren’t ideal and may very well create a safety issue or wheel damage at some point
Quite a few guys on the forum are using factory Maverick or F150 lugs on Bronco sport wheels and it’s troubling to me after seeing first hand with my own two eyes the physical difference’s between them and how they fit/seat.
Sorry if I’m coming across as argumentative I’m just concerned and want to find the right lug nuts for my/our trucks.

Bronco Sport trucks use a 12M stud where the Maverick is 14M. Both wheels and nuts use a 60* seat. My Bronco Sport First Edition (black) wheels are visually identical to the Maverick XLT wheels in terms of the actual lug holes in the wheel, 60* seat taper and depth, and exterior voids around the nuts.

The Maverick lug nuts project slightly further out from the (unmounted) wheels than Bronco Sport nuts because, as evidenced in your picture, the Maverick nuts have a longer straight shoulder. All clamping force is provided by the 60* shoulder, the longer straight shoulder simply makes the lug nut project further from the seat face. .

Here's a Ford line drawing of the Ford Maverick locks. I also have a Ford drawing of the nuts. Both drawings are similar with the exception of the length overall, as the locks have a slightly greater overall length at 1.692" vs 1.5" to allow for tool engagement (pattern depth shown below) .

Take the (2) nuts in your pic above, turn them both upside down and take a picture. I suspect you'll find that from the table surface up to the top of the shoulder they are virtually identical, and that's what provides all locating and clamping force on a tapered lug nut.

Good luck..

The last guy is saying that his BS wheels have the exact lug seat as his XLT wheels. Most likely the 12mm stud lugs go much deeper into the seat than the 14mm lugs but they still have the same taper which is the most important aspect. I checked my F150 gorilla lugs when I installed them onto my BS wheels and there was plenty of engagement with the taper and 6k miles later no issues. There are SO MANY people here running BS wheels without a single issue which is almost enough to quell any fears on it's own but I am getting ready to rotate the wheels so I'll take photos to convert you to a believer
