What would be the best type of jumper cables to have for the Maverick Hybrid ?

1. Guage Type (I'm thinking #2)
2. Copper vs Copper Clad Aluminum (I'm thinking Copper)
3. Amperage (maybe 600 Amps rated ?)

I checked the Maverick manual and did not find any spec suggestions for jumper cables.
After an exhaustive search I found a company called CE Auto Electric Supply that makes good cables - but they are super expensive. Maybe I should buy once cry once....

Thank You all for any suggestions.

It's a 12V system, even if the battery looks so very tiny and babyish. So just get what you'd get for anything else. As usual, not the cheapest stuff that feels like it's made out of speaker wire, but also don't get the triple gold-plated raceway rated stuff either.

Unrelated, O'Reilly doesn't have a Maverick Hybrid battery registered on their site yet. Fun.

I had a Toyota Prius back in 2016 which I used to jump a couple of cars in its time with some $30 ones from Wal-Mart and still have them. It's still a small truck, not a space ship.

You might consider using one of these. It can jump start your vehicle, charge your devices and it's a flashlight and it can run your 12V air compressor.

When I’m bored at work I watch these comparison videos. Just well put together as I have no need for the best shop-vac. Hahaha.

I personally wouldn't overthink it. Decent gauge and sufficient length.
Probably more importantly is to be very familiar with the process. I haven't studied the owner's manual yet, but my guess is that the Hybrid has jump points under the hood. If so, that should accommodate getting the last connection (the one that generates sparks and arcs) away from explosive battery gas.

Just about any jumper cables would work. The 12V battery does not run the starter like an ICE. All it does is power up the electronics and close a relay so the large 400V battery can start the engine.

I checked out the cables. Seem to be top quality and would be great for professional use. Yes, kind of expensive for the average person.

Wait. My trip to the moon with William Shatner and Michael Strahan isn't happening?

Damn Ford anyway.

So the high voltage (400V) battery is what starts the ice on the hybrid Maverick, right? So a set of jumper cables would just be so that you can give someone else a 12-volt jump to start their car, is that right? I guess that means no easy/practical way to "jump start" the hybrid Maverick ice... Is that correct? I must be confused... I better go read the manual.

I am also on the portable jumpstart battery train. Have had a Gooloo product for a couple of years. They’re fantastic and incredibly convenient!
