<Sarcasm ON> When you look at all of the data I have on my 12v battery since installing the monitor, I am not entirely sure, but there might be a trend starting to show? <Sarcasm OFF>

Maybe I should start taking bets on when I will have to pull out the jump box & jump start it for the first time!

I should probably check and make sure it's fully charged!
Do this betting pool right you might just pay for a better battery!

Just by day? Multiple picks of same day allowed, and we have to split it?
I'll take Mar 9th.

Other method here is selling real world data to Ford.
Because I'm sure they don't have this thru any other means they could possibly retrieve...

I do plan on sharing this data with the service department of my Ford dealership. I recently moved so I will probably have to take my truck to a dealership closer to me. I really hope their service department is better than their sales department because I walked off their lot and bought a Saturn the same day went there when I was replacing my Mustang after it was written off (I was still on crutches). I don't think the sales person's head was in the game that day. If he was on the ball he would have picked up I was a Ford guy and need a vehicle today!

I just logged in to my dashboard and it looks like it's almost time to get it serviced any way as my oil life is at 25%

I put in my own AGM battery and still having deep sleep issues, I hooked up a solar trickle charger and turned off the wifi etc. so no more ford pass. See what happens . this is my third battery in a year and a half, my understanding is the Maverick uses the same set up as the Escape, wonder if all those owners have the same problem?
When you replaced the battery, did you reset the BMS with a fully charged battery per the Ford procedure including the 8 hr rest period?

Everyone keeps saying the dealership replaced the battery. What people aren't saying is if it they replaced the battery with an AGM battery or the same flooded battery they had before. This makes a BIG difference on whether the dealerships are aware of how an AGM battery will last longer with the BMS charging system or not.
My BXT99RT4A with 390CCA was replaced with a BXT99RT4A MAX SERIES with 470CCA. It is enhanced BUT is NOT AGM. It does have a significantly larger Reserve Capacity. So in my case, at least, it was NOT replaced with the SAME battery. The AGM in a larger size (5?) will have even more additional reserve capacity if the extra 1.3+/- inches length can fit. I am content with periodically using my noco maintainer until Ford determines the appropriate fix.

Just wondering; what happens if you disconnect the BMS? Any one know or tried it?

Obviously the BMS could not notify the BCM what the condition the battery is in. Perhaps then it it would drop the amount of volts output from the DCD. converter to 13.1v when the battery needs 14.4.

I dropped my truck off at the local Ford dealership (first time there for service). I bought my truck from a dealer closer to where I used to live.

Interesting but not unusual - a few days after setting up my service appointment I received a text from a salesperson at the dealership telling me the truck is popular, and they would offer me above market value and set me up with a new vehicle with a much better interest rate (I paid cash). I politely declined the offer.

Fast forward to today; I dropped it off for an oil change and to test the 12v battery. I told the service person it has not connected to the Ford app in months and the passenger side key less lock does not work. I told him this is probably due to being in deep sleep. I told him there is an SSM on the battery issue and I showed him a graph of the degrading SOC from my monitor... I don't think he was impressed with my level of knowledge. He did ask me if I had anything plugged in like a dash cam and I told him only the battery monitor which does not use that much power.

He found the SSM and jotted down the number for the tech. then he asked me if I am having any issue with the auto stop/start, to which I said no because the hybrid starts using the electric motor in the eCVT powered by the HV battery. He did not seem convinced, so I dropped it - he is not the guy who will be working on the truck anyway.

Fingers crossed I might get a new 12v battery to tide me over until the fix later this quarter.

Maverick hybrid starts with the 12 Volt battery

True for turning it On.

But the service manager was asking about the auto-start/stop working in relation to the battery. (there was a recall on that matter for EB's)
Which the hybrid doesn't have that.
So the reply was accurate for that context of when you get rolling it's using the HVB and motor.

Well, no new battery, they apparently did the SSM process and said the battery tested fine. I could see my truck in the app while I was waiting to pick it up and the location showed it in the dealer parking lot, but 5 mins after parking it in my garage I got a deep sleep message again. Oh, well hopefully the fix is coming sooner than later.

I also had to reset the oil life cause the service department did not. Not a big deal for me but not everyone knows to check this after you pay someone to change the oil.

I would assumed they would have charged the battery (silly me) its currently @ 21% SOC. They did reconnect the monitor, so I guess that's a win?

Only thing the 12v does is close the relays to allow the HV battery to crank it.
Well, you don't really crank it per say. When the start button is pressed (or ignition is switched to Run), the 12v starts powering all of the needed electronics and the DC / DC inverter kicks in and then it takes over supplying the power for the truck using the HV battery and starts charging the 12v battery.

The high voltage battery charges the 12 volt which starts the ICE. If stuck with weak 12 volt battery truck won’t start. It would have enough voltage to just open a relay probably 99% of the time. When you jump start the Hybrid it’s done from the posts under the hood. I believe the most recent recall is to rectify problem with stop start when stopped at light etc. Ford uses marginal batteries. I had a terrible time with F150 batteries being underpowered until I got a Canadian spec battery with same footprint.

If I believe Google’s wonky AI, it appears that you are correct & I’m wrong. Good information to know. Thanks
