As long as there are no chip shortages, the average is 7 to 10 days. If your order includes a SIBL, that could add up to 2 weeks.

Say what now? There are good folks whose status has been in a holding pattern at In Production for months.

Yes and they are not the average. Mine was "In Production" from its 11/29 Production date to it's 12/06 build date at the factory and then it had the "Chip Hold" status. It still only took seven days to build it. It then waited until it was off chip hold on 12/27 to get the SIBL done on 12/28. When it came back from getting that done it was marked as "BUILT" on 01/04. So if you take into account that it sat for a month with the Chip Hold, it still took 7-10 to build from its "In Production" to getting built and then another 8 days for the SIBL to be completed and then marked as "BUILT" so it could be Shipped. Mine is still waiting at a rail ramp for its last delivery by truck.

For those who are still "In Production" it could be for any of the many of the Stop Ship orders and the recalls that are preventing them from being marked as "BUILT". Ford can not, by law, deliver a vehicle with an active recall. Their option is to let it sit at the factory until parts are available for it to be repaired, or ship it to the dealer where it can sit for it to wait for the parts are available for it to be repaired. If anyone wants to know the status of their Maverick, all they need to do is get a copy of their Vehicle Visibility Report from their dealer. I did and that is how I know exactly what was going on, when it was going on, and where it actually was/is. It's not rocket science. Fortunately, those units are not the norm as there are many more that are being built, shipped, and delivered.

There are reasons that they have been "In Production" for long periods of time and it is NOT normal. They include Chip Shortages in November, a seat belt recall, and the fuel tank recall - all will prevent the delivery of the vehicle and prevent it from going into "Built" and "Shipped" status.

Another issue currently is the shortage of truck drivers which has created "longer than normal" delivery times from the rail ramp to the dealership.

Mine has been In Production since 12/22 with no movement on the tracker...My dealer didn't mention any holds/issues when they confirmed that it had been produced, so I'm not sure what the delay is.

Mine's been In Production since 12/21 with no movement. Also a Lariat. Wonder if there's a commonality there...

Does your have a spray in bed liner? A guy with the same blend date as me (12/14) said his dealer just called this morning and informed him that the truck was sent off to get the bed liner done and should ship this coming Sunday. I'm hoping that holds true!
