Seeing the line of white fleet XL hybrids at Autozone was so disappointing. I went there to keep my current vehicle running as Ford won't take my $30,000. Can't drive those but if I need a truck there is a Uhaul on the way home that has quite a few to rent.

Yup! The local Advance auto parts store and NAPA both have theirs, but if you want yours, you have to wait.
Now, I understand these fleet of vehicles represent a large sum of cash to Ford, but they also claimed they would prioritize customers from last year who were still waiting for their vehicles to be produced. Every plain white XL I've seen from those fleets have been hybrids; including the two that were delivered to my dealership a week before my EB XLT and one a week ago. So who is still waiting for their hybrid from last year and not getting an answer as to why they're still waiting?

Oh well.....they are grounded now with the new recall on the engine.

Are you sure these were not also ordered in 2021 and just now got built?

If you got a job at AutoZone, then you could drive one.

I am "that guy" who yelled to my small town city maintenance worker "Nice truck" while waiting at the kids bus stop earlier this week. Chatted for a bit. He said he basically put in the fleet order with the state and had it with almost no wait. Would have stung a lot more if I had not been standing next to my 22 Maverick as we had the conversation. ;)

That could well be, unless you know when they were ordered, which vehicles sent to dealerships for delivery which were actually ordered through another dealership are pretty tough to determine. But when you have three or more of them show up within a month, you have to wonder who gets priority.
