I had the same problem. I like auto/stop.
Some say you have to take a chip out. Anyway mine stop also, be cause I fooled with it. Anyway I got in to my setting and some how I found it on screen to turn auto/stop back on. I am not sure just where it is on the screen. So It can be turn on and off. I was about 2 weeks before i got auto/stop bank on. I also am having trouble with Journey. That app worked good until it stop in early April. Stlll trying to get to reset. Asked Ford Video Guy for help. Good luck !!.. Oh it will show an A crossed out on your dash screen when your stop at a red light.

Presumably yours is an Ecoboost?

(Elementary presumption but needs to be confirmed because hybrids don't have the ASS feature.)

If the battery is low or engine isn't up to temp or electrical or cooling or heating load are too high it won't auto start stop. Are you running AC on lo with higher fan settings?

Should you notice the auto start/stop when driving? I do not notice the motor stopping and restarting. Could it be faulty? I know lots of people would prefer not to have it at all. It appears my truck does not.
What mode are you operating the truck in?

If you really want to know if your auto-start-stop is working:
  • put the truck in NORMAL mode
  • turn off all air and heat
  • drive until the engine warms up
  • roll the windows down
  • pull over and stop
  • keep your foot on the brake and leave the car in drive
  • listen to see if the engine stops
  • drive off
  • listen to see if the engine starts
For information on drive modes, see page 226 in your manual.
For information about auto-start-stop, see page 168 in your manual.

I haven't changed any modes since I picked it up. Which modes do not activate the start stop? I thought it is a safety feature that gets activated everytime you start the truck? Or am I wrong?
Auto start stop is not a safety feature. Check the manual pages listed above to see which modes disable auto start stop, and insure the truck is in normal mode as shown on the dash when testing for operation.

Good luck

Just look at the tachometer and see if the RPM’s drop to 0 when at a stop. Are you perhaps confusing Auto Start/Stop with Auto Brake/Hold while stopped? This feature automatically applied the brake when at a stop so you can let off the brake peddle while in stop and go traffic and not have the truck creep forward.

My auto stop start (I was going to abbreviat that, but...) quit working and I had to charge the battery. I left a trickle charger on it over night and it started working again. That was over a month ago and it's still working fine. If it happens again, I'm taking my truck in to Ford Service to have them check the battery and charging system.
