110K a year really isn't a lot though, even with platform sharing.
It is quiet a bit. Seams like most auto makers want to “spread the wealth” if you will. About 10 years ago most of fords sales were the escape Explorer and f150. So they added the bronco and ranger to break up the f150 sales.
added the Mach e to brake up the Explorer and added the bronco sport and Maverick to break up the escape. Why I don’t know. But Ford doesn’t like have 1 vehicle selling 400,000 units and others under 100k.

Worldwide sales will be in the 3M range over a 10-15 year run.

If it is profitable for the manufacturer....then by their definition...it is successful.

It's absolutely on-topic. A successful/profitable platform is one that will be in the market for several life cycles. Maverick could hit one million units by the end of it's platform life (probably through two refreshes). If it doesn't sell well, say 50,000 units or less (looking at you Ridgeline), then it may not make it to a single refresh.

Explain how this isn't on topic? Maybe you have a second topic in your head.

" Suppliers have been told to prepare for annual volumes of 110,000, according to a person with knowledge of the plans. "
