Are you going to jump ship if Subaru presents a new version of Baja in 2023?

Really liked our Subaru Impreza, could drive up wet grass hill from a dead stop. Great in snow also , but went for the Hybrid Mav to get rid of the gas guzzling Suburban / trailer combo.

Respectfully I think Subaru is one of the most overrated car brands in existence, def the most of Japanese brands. I hate their styling. I don’t think they are comfortable. I’m in CO where it’s almost a citizenship requirement to own one lol so I’m outnumbered. I love our maverick, I loved our F150 for 17 years, I will never buy a Subaru.
I have relatives who lived in CO for years. I'm happy to say they never owned one Subaru.

Subaru has done an excellent job at being invisible to me. I hardly notice them on the road. After seeing the hatred on the CVTs I looked up what kind they use. Looks like they still use a pile of 💩 out of all the proven options. Definitely not buying that. For those that don’t know, the Hybrid Maverick’s eCVT is a proven design and infinitely better than Subarus poop.

No, I doubt Subaru will do any vehicle under $35k that falls into the "truck" category.

Maybe for that New Ram that Dodge might build for the USA....
And I'd trade my SC in on a SC Hybrid for sure...

I just bought a '19 Outback Limited, my currently theoretical Maverick had better be impressive.

Just wouldn’t trust the chain driven CVT

here is Subaru showing how their CVT tech compares to a mountain bike.

Given the Mavericks success there will 100% be hybrids and EV small trucks/similar builds coming to market. If the Santa Cruz had a hybrid, I'd buy that over the Maverick. Mostly because it's nicer on the interior, and the bed is better (get that storage underneath Ford, c'mon!).

Ford will be king in this segment for the next few years.

I personally would look at the Baja if it came back. We have a few on the road around here and I think they're cool as hell. I might be going the Forester Wilderness route in the next year anyways since I will need a smaller vehicle.

Former Baja owner. Would definitely consider a Subaru, Toyota, Honda or Mazda trucklet if it was a hybrid. My only complaint about the Baja was mediocre mpg. Loved the smaller size of the Baja and wish the Maverick were a tad smaller. I never had a problem with the Baja—it had 300k on it when I sold it and it was running great. I’m a little spooked by all the Ford recalls (not just Maverick) in the news lately, and I’m concerned about reliability. I plan to sell the Maverick before the warranty runs out. Unless the Maverick reliability improves, I will probably replace it with a Honda or Toyota if they’ve brought something similar to market. Maybe the Santa Cruz will have a hybrid by then.

If a Subi Baja type vehicle came out my wife would be drooling over it and it would be parked in our garage. We have family that works for Subaru corporate so the discount is nice . Of course the Maverick would still be in the garage.
