Obviously there's DC power back there, but AC would be nice as well (just for small things, not looking to power a job site / construction tools)

Just not sure how many watt inverter would be safe based on the gauge wires Ford used

The Lariat Lux I ordered comes with a 400w inverter in the bed, so I would base any inverter you plan on installing upon that...

Does the inverter draw only on the 12V starting battery in the hybrid, or will it also use the drivetrain battery?

12v/10A =120 watts. If you wire an inverter to the existing wiring keep that in mind since IIRC that's how big the fuse is. Even if it's a 20A fuse it's still only 240 watts. I am planning on putting a water resistant 12 lighter type plug either in the cubby on on the blank cover on the opposite side. I have a 150 watt max inverter for auto use that could plug into that in case I needed to plug in a light or something.

I plan on buying a 2000w inverter to hook up to the battery for camping. But I also will have a hybrid if it is ever built
