To be honest, I'm not an full EV fan, but I welcome competition to keep the manufacturers in check. If this actually goes to production, I must admit it looks pretty neat from the article pictures. Would easily pick it over that crazy looking telsa cyber truck

I would pick a pink miata over a cyber truck, that thing is just hideous. Did Elon not learn a thing from DeLorean, other than keep your nose out of the Candy? The Fisker on the other hand doesn't look bad, kinda like a tarted up Santa Cruz. I have no faith in it being built because Fisker.

I'm skeptical about Fisker in general considering what happened last time Henrik Fisker put his name on an electric car company.

One thing that was highlighted with the Alaska is its bed, which is designed to be as versatile as possible. Size-wise, the Alaska seems to be quite similar to vehicles like the Rivian R1T, but thanks to features like its “Houdini Trunk,” which is also found in the Pear, the all-electric pickup can extend its bed from 4.5 feet all the way to 7.5 feet. With the tailgate down, the cargo area reaches 9.2 feet such a bed in place, the Alaska would be able o carry large items that would otherwise have been reserved only for larger pickup trucks.

With a projected range of 230-340 miles of range, the Fisker Alaska is pretty comparable to current players on the market. But while its feature set and capabilities are rivaled by current and future players in the electric pickup truck space, the Alaska’s price is what sets it apart. As noted by the CEO, the pickup is expected to start at just $45,400 before incentives. The executive also mentioned that he is looking to get the truck ready for production in late 2024

It's all about the money. They appear to have around $800M in cash, and they’re only losing about $100M/quarter, so he should be good for about 2 years. Unless the debt load becomes unsustainable or people aren’t willing to loan him more.

Fisker and its partners produced 1,022 Ocean SUVs in the quarter. That’s short of the 1,400 to 1,700 planned. What’s more, only a handful were delivered. Just 11 found their way to European customers.

Although it sounds and looks good, they still did not do very much.
Interesting truck, time will tell all.

This truck looks very interesting. Fisher prices escalated fast. The only "free" color is white on the Ocean. Every thing else is an upcharge. So at $45k you'll still need to add at least the winter package to get some heated seats in there lol.

This might be something I could replace my Chevy Bolt and Maverick with to have one vehicle for Uber and around the house instead of 2.

Meh. Still hoping Canoo can pull out of its tailspin and eventually build the pickup that I put a reservation on order.

I like a number to the EV's out there.
Here is a retro fit by someone in my town... https://eugeneweekly.com/2023/08/03/high-voltage-elegance/

part of the article from above.
he’s just spent close to $40,000 to have Eugene mechanic Eric Jones convert it to an all-electric vehicle using two Tesla batteries and a tiny electric motor that is almost lost in the original engine compartment, which is in the rear.

“The two Tesla batteries add 600 pounds of weight to the car,” Diethelm says, opening the front bonnet to display one of them. It looks like a rectangular high-tech suitcase with very sharp corners lying inside the otherwise empty compartment. The other battery is behind the rear seat, for weight distribution. That all makes the car heavier than it used to be. “So I had disc brakes put on.”

Not gonna lie, I like the looks/specs of the Alaska. I'd never buy one in their first year or two, but I hope they make it and produce a quality product. Around $35K for a truck with that kind of capability and range makes sense for a lot of people.

I had a real nice 62 VW Camper van way back when...I think it was called candle wax red? Anyway, long gone, but a large battery under that vehicle would have been, er rather, would be ( no charging anything back then) great..Uh, I have seen a few Campers that year that are restored..cost as much as a Rivian R1T..Lots of $$$
