Click-bait of existing recall from earlier this year.

Ford has done several re-announcements of several recalls with the numbers that haven't done it yet.

Not news.

Neither with Ford having recalls.
Neither with people not wanting to do recalls.
Neither with people not receiving the info to know there are recalls.

My 2024 I drove off the showroom floor on 12/31/2024 had no recalls, not one, I had them check before I took possession.

Is it clickbait? It’s a Newsweek article released 5 hours ago and it says the letters will go out on July 28th. You would think Newsweek would be a somewhat reputable source but who knows.

Maybe this will spark an uplifting discussion on how stoopid backup cameras (and maybe seat belts and self-adjusting brakes) are. Hoping against hope that it doesn't.

Wonder if this is the same recall or another recall on a recall.
those who recalled the recaller, have been recalled . . .

Is it clickbait?
real journalism doesn't stop the marketing guys from titling the link, "this one thing is a game changer for something important!"

Similar to Cherokee, I drove my 2024 off the lot on 12/27/24 and have had zero recalls.
4,300 miles and I’m about to have my first oil & lube service done.
Loving my Maverick.

I think this is another recall for a similar issue, but not necessarily the same as last year's.

According to Ford's notice to U.S. highway safety regulators, the defect can cause the camera to either display a blank screen or keep the image on the display after the vehicle is no longer in reverse, potentially distracting the driver.

Dealerships will update the camera software at no cost to owners. Notification letters are scheduled to be mailed by July 28.

The recall number is 25S72.
I'm guessing that "25" in the number is for 2025. The recall notice I have from last year is listed as "Campaign 24S59/24V684."

Why there's nothing wrong with it?
It should be recalled and redesigned as it is a safety issue - drivers of other vehicles going the opposite direction are distracted and thrown off balance when a '25 Maverick passes by them.

It's very similar to the eye-busting effect that a Cybertruck or Aztek causes in the same situations.

You are saying it turns people heads? Distracted driving is the drivers fault.

Not my Maverick's fault. 😱
