Think I’d let the dealer know that to see if they change their mind, if not maybe try different dealer before filing ins claim, paying any out of pocket. All they can do still refuse warranty claim

They may be right. But I wouldn't let Safelite put a piece of glass in a falling down barn. The amount of re-work that we have to perform for them is ridiculous. After I left the dealership I drove to Safelite to get their opinion and, the guy was very helpful and thought it looked like a stress crack after his pen test.
Just contact your insurance company, most of them replace windshields at no cost, I believe it falls under comprehensive coverage.
Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Maverick concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.

Before it gets any bigger see if it can be repairedI’ve got a small chip in my windshield already. Hoping it doesn’t grow. I heard the “wap” last week on the highway and new it left a mark.
I have had they do repair in the past. No problem!I'm in the club now too, got hit on the highway this week (never saw it coming, just a big WHACK...thought it came through the windshield for a second).
Not sure what it was but probably driveway gravel off someone's tires (very common around here, this will be the 3rd windshield we've replaced in 10 years living here and I've lost track of the small glass and paint chips).
Started out about a quarter size at the bottom next to the Ford labels but deep, was going to be a free repair but the next day after work it had expanded to over a foot long. From the sun maybe?
So going to be a deductible replacement; they can't get a new windshield in until later this week. Scheduled a at home repair since I can't get off work short notice, but worried about calibrating the CP360. Safelite said they can do it either way with the same warranty but a little unsure. (first car with safety camera)
Is the acoustic windshield on all models? I thought it was just on the Lariat and was thicker. I got a good size rock thrown on my windshield and only suffered a small dimple which isn’t even noticeable after Safelite filled it in?If you can get Ford to swap out your windshield due to rock damage, more power to you!
2 cracked windshields in previous cars taught me not to tailgate on the highway, cause you know, rocks happen. Also, just like "back in my day, if your car rolled over you just rolled it back and kept going" - new materials for comfort and safety may not be as strong. The acoustic windshield probably sacrifices some strength for comfort.
Not covered by insurance? On a weekend road trip my Mav got hit by a rock at the top of the windshield dead center above the rear view mirror. Safelite needed to order the special acoustic windshield with wiper heaters, about a month so far. Fortunately my wife insisted I buy the road hazard warranty after she heard the dealer sales pitch, this is a $1000 repair.
