Good morning everyone,

Put my 22 loaded A51 XLT Hybrid for sale on the forum 10 days or so ago. Despite being in excellent shape and low mileage and priced below what I could get from Vroom, no one has reached out to me for any additional information or questions.

Any advice? I was trying to stay away from Craigslist etc. and I can always sell it to Vroom, but thought a MTC member who may be tired of waiting would be interested in an almost new truck with 2 years of warranty left.

I am only selling because I have a 23 Lariat (same color) that has shipped.

Thank you in advance, this forum is fantastic and I am looking to keep the Lariat for a long time.

Mike
Curious what you don't like about the 22 that you are selling it already? Also curious why you ordered a 22 and a 23? I keep my vehicles a long time.my ram is 14 years old, hoping to get 15 years out of the maverick.

I love the 22 XLT. Has been trouble free. I ordered the 23 Lariat for my wife as she "needs" push button start, XM radio etc. A couple of months after it was ordered she said she wanted an SUV instead of a truck so I changed the color on the order from Cactus Gray to A51 and decided to keep the Lariat for myself.

If no one buys the 22 and the Vroom offer keeps dropping I may just keep the 22 and let the dealer have the 23. I only drive 6000 - 6500 miles a year.

I usually keep cars a long time. The Honda before the Mav was an 08 and my wife's current SUV is a 2010 so I am with you on that. I am easy on my vehicles and maintain them well and they have all lasted me a good long time.

Where do the cars get posted in these forums? Just a thread or is there a dedicated area?

Outside of possible visibility issue, you may actually be missing your target market in the forums. Most people I see here on the forum seem to fit below teo categories...

1) Already have one or two Mavs. Can afford to wait for an order.
2) Are frustrated with anything other than MSRP. They're here for a bit of group therapy while waiting on an order. <- I'm in this boat and it doesnt seem to high amount of us break down, when they do many sour on Ford in general.

I think you want the crowd that is'nt even on this forum. The ones that want instant gratification. They go to a dealer and cant find one, they check online and find what they want, then cough up more because they want it right away. That crowd generally isnt spending their time in these forums.

Others have smart advice about not forgetting tax savings on a trade and personal sale headaches in your calculations.

You may be right, I just wanted to avoid Craigslist and all of its stuff. Click on Forums, then scroll down and there is a section called member marketplace and the Mavericks for sale are there. Also interior, exterior etc.

There is a big shopping center down the street from my house and people park there cars there that are for sale and that seems to work. I may try that one Saturday or Sunday.

This is a great forum as long as you stay away from DRL and oil threads :)

I don't bother with Craigslist anymore. When I sold my 2014 Wrangler Rubicon 2-door, I put it on CarGurus.com. It was gone within two weeks, purchased by the first person to come see it.

I don't know how they'd rate your asking price but you can start an ad and they'll rate it before you commit so you can see if it makes sense to list it there.

Another thread I automatically put on my ignore list is "Gas Octane" threads

Thank you for the info on CarGurus. Never used them and will take a deeper dive tonight. Tracker shows estimated delivery on the 23 as 9/21-10-4. I actually hope it is a couple days later as I will be traveling that week.

We used CarMax for my wife's 2016 Ford Fiesta SE with 88k miles on it, we got $2,500.00 more than what our dealer offered us. If one is in your area check them out. Also, you can get a quote online too. Good luck. I just ordered a Lariat for my Daughter and my wife loves her 22 XLT AWD too.

Have you considered driveway.com? Their offer for my late Model Tacoma was close to retail. $1.5K higher than the best offer from of all places Carmax.

driveway.com is a division of Lithia, the process done entirely online. The only person I came in contact with was the hotshot driver that picked up the truck last night.

They do RTP and ACH electronic payment depending on bank or credit union. RTPs are available within 15 mins of pickup confirmation with ACH payments available 1-3 business days.

My credit union does ACH only but the entire amount driveway.com paid was available when I checked this morning.

Paperwork required Is sent UPS overnight and driveway.com supplies one to return documents. I was uncomfortable sending a signed title prior to payment but the process went smoothly no hiccups.

Piece of advice a wise person told me when I was young:
”Friends is friends but business is business.”

Thanks - I will give them a go. Vroom and Carvana are low and dealer only offered 25,500 on a trade. They will wash and vacuum it and add 5 grand and sell it in a day. Truck is like new. I may keep it and walk away from the Lariat. Price differential is too great considering the amount I drive these days.

Perhaps he's like me. I ordered a '22 XLT in '21. Took 18 months and I got converted to a '23. But I saved more cash and I wanted it changed to a Lariat, they wouldn't let me so I made a new order. When the Lariat came in I traded in the XLT.

I love the 22 and have not had any issues. Ordered the Lariat for my wife who decided she wants an SUV, not a truck. The 22 is an XLT so I decided to sell the XLT and keep the Lariat for me but the XLT is not getting any good offers and Vroom, Driveway and Carvana are also low so I am leaning now towards keeping the 22 as it would cost me around 7 grand to upgrade and the differences between the XLT and the Lariat aren't enough for me to spend the money. I am only driving around 6,000 miles a year now so a loaded XLT is fine.

Oh yeah, the Lariat is worth it.
