sure but if you order something like FX4 and 4K there’s overlapThe Price is a sum of items...
If X is $100, Y is $50, and Z is $25, then the package with XY is $150 and YZ is $75.
You don't see the underlying numbers because many aren't purchasable individually, but that's how it works and it's all built into the base packages.
It seems like OP is talking about a scenario like an XLT Ecoboost buyer who gets the 4k tow and the FX4 packages. There is redundancy between the two yet you're still paying full price for both packages. The Price is a sum of items...

So the only thing that's an overlap is the Hitch swaps from a 4-pin to a 7-pin connector. Price is negligible there. Especially when the entire Hitch + plug is $100 as an add-on optionsure but if you order something like FX4 and 4K there’s overlap
Seemed there was more overlap than that will look into it tomorrow. So the only thing that's an overlap is the Hitch swaps from a 4-pin to a 7-pin connector. Price is negligible there. Especially when the entire Hitch + plug is $100 as an add-on option
It also shows a possible overlap of radiator/fan.
FX4 says "Heavy duty" cooling fan and radiator
4K says "Higher capacity" radiator and "upgraded" cooling fan
There may be various upgrades, and you're getting all of them...
Looking at everything you're getting in a $800 and $745 package, the things like wheels/tires, brake controller, trans oil cooler, tire upgrades, etc etc all probably eat up most of the package.
If you were to get a "credit" back, it wouldn't be much if anything.
And honestly it's much easier to have a program where it is "+$800 for this one,+$745 for that one" rather than "+$800 for this one, and +$745 for that one, but if you add both we subtract $35, and then if you add this other thing it changes again, but another change changes it one more time"
In the end, the difference is almost nothing, and it's simpler for people to build using packages... that's really it.
I did it for you: Some things are worded differently but clearly marketing jargonSeemed there was more overlap than that will look into it tomorrow.
I kind of agree but in reality the price of the FX4 package is still a good deal just for the AT tires, tow hooks and skid plate. I personally think the black wheels with the FX4 package look terrible but that's just me.Overlap is the sole reason I didn't add the FX4 package to my XLT w/4K tow option. If it had been priced to allow for the overlap I would have added FX4. It just seemed like I was going to pay for some of the same things twice.
I agree . I ordered the Lariat with 4K and FX4. I am driving the XLT with FX4 and Wildpeak tires, Hill Decent works will along with the two hooks. Runs well in deep snow! I think it was the combo is worth it if you go off road a bit. Not like the Raptor but runs well on gravel trails.I kind of agree but in reality the price of the FX4 package is still a good deal just for the AT tires, tow hooks and skid plate. With the Off-Road package you get the front tow hooks that can not be added later. In addition you get "Sand" mode which is extremely good to have in deeper snow levels (if you are in an area that gets the white stuff) and most importantly you get the skid plates.Overlap is the sole reason I didn't add the FX4 package to my XLT w/4K tow option.
