If I won the lotto, I'd still keep my Maverick. After just over 6 months of ownership I'm still very impressed. The AWD on my FX4 is perfect for the beach soft sand. It tows what I need it to, gets good MPG and is comfortable inside. Not to mention she fits in my garage with the extra space and is nice. My best friend ended up getting one after I got mine. Just wanted to share some pictures.

Six months with mine as well. First oil change done at 3600 miles. Drove down to Miami and back to Central Florida yesterday and got up to 35mpg going down and back up hwy 27. It was a nice toasty 87 degrees down south!!

jealous of your water…I’m over on the upper tx coast and our surf looks more like chocolate milk most of the time.
I am glad that you said it does well in soft sand as I plan on using mine for surf fish a lot.

I get that kind of MPG when I'm going about 50-55 mph. Love it, plus she's got plenty of pick up when I need it. Had it over 100mph one time felt super stable.

MPG really drops off at higher speeds. Over about 70mph it drops quite a bit. I was able to get about 32mpg on a long highway trip when taking care to drive carefully and keep the speed at or below 70. Averaging over that speed, not so good.

The thing is, it really seems to thrive at higher speeds. When you pass at highway speeds you have to watch it because it frequently wind up going 90mph+. It handles great in that speed range and you hardly notice you're going that fast. It makes sense since the ecoboost develops it's best power at higher rpms.

This thing is going to earn me a speeding ticket one of these days. 😭😅

Yeah, I was happy with the MPG especially since I had some stop and go driving in Miami and pushed it over 90 mph for a little while on hwy 27!

Took my family on vacation there for a week back in the summer of 2014. Nice area and had a good time.

BTW, nice truck, thanks for sharing.

What a great compliment for the Maverick. I feel the same way. Of course I would still want a performance car or ultra luxury sedan but I would still want to keep my Maverick. Or at least give it to someone I know in need. It's been a year with mine and has been flawless. I couldn't agree more on the fuel economy and comfort. It's a great all-arounder. I have the Area 51 Lariat just like your buddy's except without the FX4 package. Just personal preference, the front end looks so much nicer with the upper LED running light on the Lariats instead of the faux trim piece on the XL and XLT. I thought they were going to standardize the LED runners on all trims for MY23 judging by the online configurator but they didn't go through with it, maybe for cost? IDK.

Thats funny you say that. I've said the same recently. I would of course buy a much nicer truck. But, I like how you are pretty anonymous in this. Its just a solid little truck that makes a perfect run-about.

That's Awesome, Love the pics. The family and I visit the beach a good bit in the summer months around the Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Destin areas. I don't drive on the beach though.
