And if you didn't buy a Maverick, you could save $21,500-40,000! 😆
That's me so far.

But even when it is time for me to get a new(er) vehicle, I'd consider the Maverick hybrid over the EB, no matter if I drove a little or a lot. If I drive a little, the hybrid is more efficient in the city. I think the longevity and reliability of the hybrid powertrain would be better than the EB for those couple-mile hops between errands.

If I really click off the miles (used to drive north of 25,000 miles a year) then the hybrid is still appealing since it's mechanically simpler and has the benefit of not having to run the engine 100% of the time. That saves fuel costs, but the more important part to me is having the truck on the road and not in the shop.

“Survival kit contents check. In them you’ll find:
– One forty-five caliber automatic
– Two boxes of ammunition
– Four days’ concentrated emergency rations
– One drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine, vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills
– One miniature combination Russian phrase book and Bible
– One hundred dollars in rubles
– One hundred dollars in gold
– Nine packs of chewing gum
– One issue of prophylactics
– Three lipsticks

Shoot, a fella could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff!
not sure what you're gonna do with 3 lipsticks and 3 pairs of stockings... nevermind- don't want to know!

My hybrid will allow me to purchase regular unleaded instead of super unleaded that i have to use now in my BMW. I expect a big savings on that alone.

Well I got AWD for winter weather, but also since we're so close to hitting the climate change tipping point, when the ice caps melt, the flooding of all the coastal plains will definitely disrupt everything and AWD will be the minimum you need to get around. Looking at an electric dirt bike that I can recharge from solar panels to get around in the ensuing chaos when gasoline is unobtainium.
That's exactly how I would want it. A capable vehicle for off road and a small full electric vehicle for a singular person transport. Great way of thinking here... Now to get my cabin, my 40 acres and a solar panel setup.

You could do better than that if you smoke. Just quit and look at what you would save ;)
You've convinced me. I'm going to start smoking, then quit when my truck arrives.
I'll be rich!

That's something that I have rarely seen mentioned in this "debate". No matter how you dice it, the hybrid is going to save most people quite a bit on fuel costs because of the ability to use regular alone. Whether fuel costs are a priority is a personal decision. For us, we wouldn't even have been looking at a truck unless it got compact sedan fuel efficiency, but we have no need to tow 4,000lbs. or do any serious off-roading.

If you keep your Hybrid Mav until 120,000 miles you will pay $4200 less for fuel vs. the 2.0 FWD. The main differences are HP and fuel tank size.
I know, I know. Millions of different variables can effect mpg.
My reason for going ahead and purchasing the 2.0 is because the hybrid isn't coming out anytime soon in AWD. The AWD got me out of a predicament just the other day coming out of a step step driveway with algae on it where a full size chevy just slide back down the drive.

I have owed a few turbo charged 4 cyl vehicles and all of them get a diet of regular gas as will the Maverick unless towing a heavy trailer up Pikes Peak. Yes the hybrid will save gas money but thats pretty obvious so I don't think this thread should be about gas mileage but more of what works for you as a Maverick owner. I had no intention of buying a Hybrid so I have no issues using more fuel to get me from point A to B. In fact if they did not offer the 2.0 I would be buying another Ranger.

Just for fun. Gas prices are somewhat high right now where I live so I calculated off the average gas price in my area.
